Me vs. You are five Sydney guys that like loud noises. Armed with a sound that mashes together melodic punk with metal and rock influences, the band has worked relentlessly to build a dedicated underground following throughout the alternative music community. For Me vs. You, it's been less a case of 'do it yourself', and more a case of 'do everything yourself'.
The band got together in 2005, wrote five songs, recorded them and thus the first EP A Novice with a Nailbomb was born. The boys then set about playing anywhere and everywhere they could for the next two years, even if it meant driving four hours to play one show then heading home to work the next morning. They soon developed a reputation for frantically energetic shows, and lead singer Raj soon became much more familiar with hospitals and medical centres.
The bands dedication to the music and fans has paid off. They are greeted at shows by a sea of smiling faces and green t-shirts. Hands fly into the air as they belt out crowd favourites, and the line between stage and audience is often danced into non-existence. No matter where they are, Me vs. You will always give you something to talk about after the show.
Me vs. You have released their second EP, The Fear of Falling. Produced by Dave Hammer (Furcurve, Rex Banner), the new record shows how much the Me vs. You sound has grown and changed since those first few songs were written. The band has channelled influences ranging from Evergreen Terrace and Death by Stereo, to Glassjaw and the Smashing Pumpkins.
Bigger, broader, and better are some of the great words starting with B that the band hopes will be tossed around when listening to The Fear of Falling.
Me vs. You will be heading out to promote the new EP up and down the east coast, so pump up those air mattresses and tidy the spare room!
