The story of death audio is being written as we speak; the band is embarking on the first of a series of national tours generating a musical alliance that must be experienced to be believed. Death Audios' intense tunes will plague your brain and the insane stage presence will have you head banging in a state of frenzy. The birth of death audio was a labor of love that brought together five talented musicians; Will Borland (guitarist), Bulldog (drummer), Josh (vocalist), J.K (guitarist) and Az (bass & vocals).
Will Borland, fraught, searching for an outlet for his passion for music, consistently in and out of bands for years decided to shift his focus to the business side of the music industry. During the past two years alongside playing music, Will built and continues to run a successful event management business which puts hundreds of local Australian bands onstage, exposing them to the public and discovering new talent.
In early 2007 Will met Bulldog whilst playing in the local Melbourne band. On tour together the boys discussed the possibility of starting up a new band. The idea was up in the air as Bulldogs heart was initially in moving overseas for work – but before they knew it, deep in the rehearsal rooms of the Jam Tin in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne – Death Audio was born, and nobody was going anywhere! From the first rehearsal the Jam Tin shook like it had never shaken before. Bulldog resigned his idea of working overseas, and Will cut his workload in half to commit to the band.
Stepping into the band next was Josh, starting off on bass Josh brought aggressive melodies to kill for along with J.K from his former band. With a full band line up without vocals, Death Audio held auditions week after week in search for the vocalist that would rip the ears off the crowds, not knowing that the talent was standing in the room with them - behind the bass. After some time Josh decided to leave the band due to his growing lack of interest in playing bass, he didn't want it to destroy the band down the track if he lost anymore interest in it.
After two months Death Audio was still writing and rehearsing songs, and not anywhere even remotely close to giving up on the music they created. It was around then that Josh called in and said he missed the band and that he'd like to try vocals instead of bass as he thought that vocally, he could offer the band a lot more. Josh stepped into the room after months of absence, impressed by the progress and development of the new music he let his voice rip, and just like that Death Audio discovered the strong aggressive vocals that drive the band.
After weeks of writing, Death Audio needed to complete the backbone of the band with a tight bass player. Will knowing a mate from a past project called upon Az and invited him to a rehearsal, and the punchy tones of the songs were an instant hit. The addition of Aaron helped create the entirety of Death Audio by bringing in awesome bass talent and golden backing vocal tones.
Eight months in the making and Death Audio has already launched their first attack on Victoria touring with the mighty Frankenbok, pushing their ability to create a massive fan base. Alas along the way due to personal reasons Bulldog could no longer continue on with Death Audio needless to say auditions were held immediatly to find the right donor for this "heart transplant".
Amongst a fair crew of drummers keen to try out and hoping to be the new face in Death Audio, Josh's brother Zac put his hand up for an audition. Zac was an immediate eye opener with his very tight and aggressive drum style backed with a very positive attitude, this led him to a call back and then an offer to join Death Audio.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everone for their interest in and auditions for this position, we were blown away!!
The Death Audio Epidemic will not be contained, keep an eye out for an outbreak in a town near YOU.
