About Me

About me.....hmmm, my goal these days is in pursuit of losing self-absorption. The more this slips away and I just ask the universe to put me in situations where I can be(and am capable of being)of help, the more the things I used to think obsessively about how to "get" are coming to me. And the more negative elements of my life are naturally slipping away. It's amazing what happens when you ask the universe (God, Allah, HP, Elvis, quantum physics....whomever you connect to on a spiritual level)to help you be of most service to it and others. The things you've wanted most and pursued in a self-seeking way REALLY do come to you. I'm from a long line of doctors (psychiatrists and surgeons! MOSTLY ALL SHRINKS!!!) so I always questioned the Spiritual world, trying to figure it out, and I can never have answers factually given to me by any human beingso I had to give up all the figuring it out aspect of it.Anyway...I am an proud Army brat. (which does not mean I support THIS administrations actions...just I'm proud of our military....I'm from a long line of Military people. My father is a Colonel, my Grandfathers a Colonel, and an Admiral, my cousin's a Navy seal. God bless those guys and girls!)So, if you've read this far, I'm politically aware, and more interested in what is going on (and alarmed) than ever before. The more into politics I delve, the more I become increasingly confused. As in most areas in life....the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know.Facts?? Born in Denver, Colorado. Lived in: Austin, TX; Washington DC (by way of Potomac, MD..a few minutes from the Washington border!); Sagamihara, Japan; San Francisco, CA; Evergreen, CO..and a few locations sometimes within the same state or country. I've been fortunate enough to work with a theatre company that gave me a large grasp and experience of living in Europe and touring for many months - primarily in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. (LOOOOOVE VIENNA! It's MAGICAL!)My family has had a home in Southampton, New York since I was born, and I lived in Manhattan for 11 years before moving to LA. So I call myself a New Yorker..it's where I felt more "home" for a girl with no (yet MANY!) real, permanent home roots, than anywhere else ever has. I never lived anywhere more than 1-4 years at one time. New York City is the geographic love of my life and always will be.I grew up as a serious athlete, first as a gymnast and then as a very competitive horseback rider, competing in the hunter/jumper and equitation divisions of horse shows almost every weekend of my teenage life. Not so much of a social life. (of course, SOMEHOW I managed to squeeze one in...sort of!) :)Went to High School at Connelly School of the Holy Child, then to Winston Churchill where I graduated. I spent my first two years of college at Rosemont in Pennsylvania (Villanova's sister school) and then transferred to U. of MO/Columbia where I got my degree in Theatre performance.I love animals and have a few dogs and cats. I used to volunteer at the Humane Society, when I was in college...and all I have to say on that is ....WAKE UP WORLD!!! SPAY YOUR ANIMALS!!! You may "know" your puppies or kittens are going to good homes. Many of these people want the "experience" of having the baby pets. Trust me, down the line...some of these babys will not be spayed ...will have more (over which litter you have NO SAY!) and eventually the pounds are over flooded. It was too heartbreaking for me. My heart physically hurt when I left each day, knowing in the morning the freezer would be filled with frozen bodies of the unconditionally loving creatures I spent my day trying to make comfortable and happy. I had to quit after 3 months when they said I'd have to start administering the lethal injection. I couldn't do it. Animals give SOOO much back, for so very little. I think they are the world's most pure beings. SO PLEASE....SPAY your 4-legged children, or if an "accident" happens, make sure the people who adopt from you write written consents for guaranteeing to spay this precious animal. It WILL make a difference!!!Sorry, I really didn't mean to get on a rant about that. But, (obviously!) I have extreme feelings on this issue, based on my experience.Happiness IS a choice, believe it or not. It all depends on what pair of glasses you choose to view the world from. My Interests

My pets, horseback riding, teaching, the theatre, singing, dancing, hiking, walking on the beach, doing outrageously spontaneous things, traveling the road less traveled. Traveling the world. Lying out in the sun by aqua blue water with a great book and sun beating down on me, with no worries and no immediate schedule...except a massage booked later. HEAVEN!

I'd like to meet:

Artistic, authentic people with true soul. People who are driven by their passions, rather than by their agendas. Animal lovers. People who share the same interests. I am not here trying to date.

Music:

Very ecclectic. I can find appreciation in all of it.

Heroes:

My parents each in their own ways. Jackie O. Our troops...though that does not mean I agree with the war. My brother Jimmy who passed away at 22 after a few months of extreme pain...without a hint of complaint or why me? I miss him every day. My acting teacher in Los Angeles who brought me to a level I never thought I could reach...Scott Colomby. My brother Jeff who is pilot and has a kind word for everyone he meets. Those with empathy who act on it and don't just FEEL it are all our heroes. Those whose work involves risking their own lives daily just to keep us safe - they are all our heroes.
