This young Jamaican singer/songwriter also composed and produced most of the songs on her debut album. Close to completion, Katrinas album was mainly created in the make shift studio that she saved up to buy and set-up in her bedroom There she toils into the night writing and singing her songs to tracks premixed for her. Though originally forced into the role of producer, Katrina is quite happy with the whole learning experience. "My songs are a mixture of Reggae, Neo-Soul and R & B sounding like a Jazz/Reggae fusion.Katrina has always been the girl next door. Yeah, the one youd hear singing as soon as she got up. Thats how neighbors knew she was awake or at home. She always wanted to sing and at a young age, begged to be allowed to sing in the childrens choir at church. Though she is a natural alto, over the years, Katrina was able to extend her vocal range. Her background in singing on her church choirs, made it easy to jump from one harmony note to the next. This proved useful for her many jobs on and off stage, where she lent her vocals as a back-up singer for a number of artistes including Sly and Robbie with Sinead OConnor, Luciano, Abijah, Richie Spice, Nadine Sutherland, Junior Kelly, Bryahan Art, Tami Chynn, LMJ, I Wayne, and currently Tessanne Chin. She has backed artists at Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues, Sumfest, Rebel Salute, Heineken Startime, International Reggae Day, Western Consciousness, East Fest, Caribbean Music Expo, and numerous other live shows. Katrina has also recorded in studio with Sly & Robbie, Sinead OConnor, Luciano, Junior Kelly, and Tessanne Chin, among others.Though she faced many stumbling blocks, in addition to the usual difficulties that most females encounter when trying to break into the male dominated music industry, Katrina continued to pursue her singing career. Quietly she worked on projects while learning the business, trying to find ways to start and then finish her own album. With the help of friends, namely Bobby Treasure, Rory Baker, Sly and Robbie, Paul Kastick, Steven Chung, Otty Lewis and Christopher "Dj Chris" Plummer, she has been able to realize her dream.
