Chasing Aphrodyte are a 5 piece girl band from Limerick in Ireland who formed in 2003 when songwriter Amee realised she had a creative side to playing the guitar and could concoct songs that could be appreciated from outside her bedroom door. Amee alongside school friend Allida whom you can tell have both been singing immediately since exiting the womb ;collaborated in confidence and harmonies when they combined, forming a duo and at the ages of 13 and 14, were performing in front of the schools, family, local events and anything that could get their fresh faces noticed. The third band member to enter was Beth, whom, raised between miles of forest and haystack, also shared her love for the guitar and brought a classical vibe. This is when the 3 girls realised they were termed a "band" and now could be taken seriously-They were going to get down to business. Sure enough by the end of the summer 2004, the girls had their first album recorded and more to come. The last two band mates "Percussionist Freda" and "Fiona Keys" came naturally as all really good friends who according to Fiona-"just accidentally happen to sound good together!"Named after the Greek goddess of love: Aphrodite, the girls created the unique name of Chasing Aphrodyte (chasing love) revealing the dreams and hopes they pursue, illustrating their desire for the bands achievement and long for success. Claiming Influences from The Corrs to Avril Lavigne to Nickleback and Pink. Chasing Aphrodyte seems to give off different vibes and genres to everyone. When they asked their fans to describe their music, several genres were returned:"Acoustic girl Rock with punk Chords" "Peaceful Country" "Chill out"Partaking in minor competitions and performances around the country, 2 new songs "Tomorrow" and "What's going on."
