HERE ARE REVIEWS FOR 'THE SCREAM THAT TORE THE SKY'...
Through numerous breaks, unconventional riffs, bass and throat torturing, using death, thrash and black elements and fusing it to a very original cocktail, Stargazer left me puzzled. The whole makes it a pretty intense experience, not in the least cause the musicians are highly skilled. Pretty amazing they did all the stuff just with the two of them.
A different take on extreme metal which is a breathe of fresh air, departing from the typical death metal stereotypical topics. Musically this band pulls out no stops. Inserting highly technical bass playing similar to the masters of Roger Patterson or Tony Choy of Atheist, and the fretless mastery of Steve Digiorgio, these guys don’t mess around. This album most definitely takes quite a few listens to fully grasp everything that is going on here, but I must say it is well worth a look and has already became an album that is floating in my regular rotation for quite some time, with no end in sight!

There are some intense musical gymnastics going on here on this record. Quite literally coming from Down Under and blowing the roof off my house, Australia’s Stargazer have returned......I haven’t heard a Death Metal band attack their instruments this hard in a long fucking time.

Aggressive, experimental, technical and full of melody, “The Scream that Tore the Sky” is a quality release, from its first to its last note. STARGAZER - “The scream that tore the sky” is an incredible release, very well worth of your attention. The band is not afraid to look at the stars and dream with their eyes wide open.
From the first notes I perked up my ears; let’s face it, you rarely hear a virtuoso bass player in a death metal project. And despite the high level of technicality, the music doesn’t come off as overly progressive; it’s still death metal at its core. Inquisitor is no slouch on drums and guitars, either; these are two very talented individuals. Technical death metal is certainly not a new phenomenon, and we’ve been graced with some very good stuff recently (Arsis, Disillusion, Necrophagist, etc.) and Stargazer should be on your radar if you liked any of those bands.....I may be waxing a bit heavy with the hyperbole… but screw it, sometimes you have to go nuts over something.

This is what CYNIC would sound like if they were plagued with nightmares rather than pleasant dreams. This album truly bears a unique sound, as well as a unique sense of theme and mood. The most immediate aspect which grips you by the balls and refuses to let go is the nourishing pallet of riffs spewed from every inch of this album. The Serpent Inquisitor handles the axe with ease, letting beautiful melodies bleed from his fingers like an artist who is never quite content with his work. With such a unique and off-beat sound we are able to enjoy the release throughout its entirety as the creative well never runs dry.
Now this is a fucking brilliant album. Australia’s Stargazer debut is what I call an album that crosses the border of the death metal genre. They’re technical and inventive, yet heavy but also mysterious.
If the “Harbringer” MCD was good enough, you better forget it now, because “The Scream…” presents the REAL stuff, and the band at their full potential. Regarding the music: perfect is the right word to describe it. Like Frank said in his “Harbringer” review, these guys play from the heart, even if they deliver a rather complex form of Death Metal. The result breaks down the overall mediocrity that plagues this scene nowadays with an overdose of class and remarkable inspiration. Despite the complexity of the music, it never occurs that the listener is left clueless of what it is going on, each track has a clearly definite thread, easy to follow. No wonder that the two STARGAZER musicians (The Great Righteous Destroyer and The Serpent Inquisitor, yeah, even the pseudonyms are cool as Hell!) are involved in some other class Australian bands......STARGAZER “The Scream…” is a miraculous album and I strongly suggest you don’t ignore it any longer, unless you want to make fools of yourselves.

What can one do when staring into the face of brilliance, more over what on earth can one say to describe it?! It is an impossible task. Let me just put it like this, Stargazer have constructed the most impressively technical, catchy and utterly extreme deathrash record of the last 5 years, maybe 10!! This is the dream record other deathrash bands envision but can never hope to realize.

Seriously, how often do you find an album that COMPELS you to write about it? “The Scream that Tore the Sky” is very original, rich and rewarding. There are few albums that sound like this one. I’m safe to recommend it to anyone who likes music that’s innovative without being self-indulgent and stupid. To anyone who likes metal. I will support Stargazer whenever it’s possible. Words cannot convey the musical intensity displayed throughout—it must be experienced and assimilated. Highly recommended.

Stargazer aren't your stock-standard Death Metal outfit and 'The Scream The Tore The Sky' isn't your average Death Metal album. Otherworld elements are integrated into songs, which convey a sense of magic and mysticism.11 tracks and almost 42-minutes of fresh, original, excellent metal. That's all there is too it. 'The Scream That Tore The Sky' comes as highly recommended listening and it's as simple as that.
