The Brazilian Samba Group was created by sambista Guilherme Almeida from Rio De Janeiro Brazil.
We are a 6 piece Samba/Hip Hop group based in Sydneyand we play a mixture of Hip Hop with a Brazilian flavour which generates plenty of energy on stage. The band consists of Guilherme Almeida (MC Buda) vocals/percussion, Toni Allayiallis (vocals), Junichi Shiomi (Bass), Rodrigo Galvao (Drums), Marcello Maio (Keys).The show consists of traditional Batucada to Samba Reggae, Jazzy Bossa Nova mixed with a hip hop twist which has seen the Brazilian Samba Group play regular shows at the new years eve party at the Opera Bar, Golden Sheaf, Barrio Bar, Woollahra Hotel and many Latin festivals throughout NSW and Victoria to name a few. The Brazilian Samba Group has an authentic sound to which distincts them from any other Brazilian group in not only Australia but the world! The group plays a mixture of originals and traditional Brazilian covers and the show is jam packed and full of energy that will have you dancing all night.With influences from Sergio Mendes to Antonio Carlos Jobim and the Roots the Brazilian Samba Group keeps the party going all night and appeals to a large cross section of musical lovers. We are currently recording an EP of all of our original music and will be available shortly.BATUCADA SHOWCASE:The Brazilian Samba Batucada Group is a special showcase production that Guilherme Almeida has also put togeather for special corporate functions and for educational programs designed to educate people on Brazilian culture through Music and Dance. This is a seperate show which consists of more traditional Batucada and traditional Samba Dancing. This Batucada is rated one of the best outside of Brazil which you can hear on the playlist on this site. With songs such as FAVELA and BATUCADA NOSSA you will see how many people from all over the world have listerned and commented on Mestre Guilherme Almeida's musical works.The show consist of a Batucada demonstration lead by mestre Guilherme which generates plenty of energy. Each instrument is introduced and a brief explanation on the origins of instrument and what part it plays in the Escola de Samba is clearly given by Mestre Guilherme. There are many different ways of playing samba instruments and there are also many different styles of sambas which we like to educate the people to understand. Its not just about making noise its about making differnt styles of Sambas. After the Batucada demonstration is given we like to introduce the dancing with the Brazilian Samba Batucada Group dancers performing to the live instrumentation of the batucada. We also include a Roda de Capoeira which coonsists of some of the best Capoeira dancers in the country and outside of Brazil.
