About Me

Funlovin' chatahoochin' musicmad spiritualistic empathic humourous witty caring trustworthy honest ...... wanna know more? lol
My Radio broadcasting has included many (almost) legendary Shows (lol) all Produced and Presented by me for many years now and entirely my own creation - often copied by many in the Industry - difficult to prove maybe, but they know alright! - and anyway ... it's the finest form of flattery isn't it?
I am now back on Net Radio - please feel free to message me for more info :)

My Interests

Music, Sound Recording, DJing, Radio Broadcasting, Amateur (Ham) Radio, Computers, Internet, still hoping to progress learning Web Design .... :DI also love Science Fiction, Science Fact, looking at the Stars, 'Future Technology', and oh ... yes ... I love chatting!! lmao
I am particularly interested in Past Civilisations - the way they lived and the reasons why they vanished ... I wonder if people today will finally take note and make changes before it's too late?
I love the spoken word, origins and meanings of, and have many books and recordings to show this!

I'd like to meet:

Muso's, Songwriters, Studio Techs, Record Producers, Broadcasters and all 'like-minded' people from all over the World .... I take a while to 'open up' to people though .. so be patient!!! lolIf you want to just have a friendly chat with no strings .... I'd love to hear from you!

Music:

Well ... there isn't enough space here to list all the music I love!
It really depends on the mood I am in ..... I can listen to just about any 'Genre' .... but if I was pushed, I would say that I prefered music that makes you think .... now that could be any sort .... but I particularly love the following:-
Tangerine Dream (and spin-offs) - Kitaro - Mike, Sally & Terry Oldfield - Faithless (and Dido) - Darren Hayes and his former band Savage Garden, hi to all the DSH gang ;) - Goldfrapp - Bjork - Kate Bush - The Smiths - Morrissey - Future Sound Of London - Pink Floyd - Moody Blues - Mike Pinder - Pinder Brothers - Genesis - Steve Hackett - Marillion - Galahad - Pendragon - Mostly Autumn - Camel (hey Andy!) - Caravan - Gong - Gentle Giant - The Instigators - Horslips, plus many other 'Prog' bands;
also McKennitt - Clannad (and Enya) - Delirious? - Delirium - 'World styles' such as Yanni and Offra Haza.
Over the years I have also loved Funk bands such as Cymande - Undisputed Truth - War - Tower Of Power and Funkadelic
Pop/Rock/Alt bands such as Depeche Mode - Coldplay - Travis - Oasis - Blur - Suede - Gay Dad - Pulp - James - Gene - Love & Money (hey James!) - Hipsway - World Party - Electrasy (Rock on dudes!) - Inflatable Sharks - Add N to X - Horse - Live - Creed - Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Matchbox 20 - The Calling - Dream Theater - Metalica - Black Sabbath - Whitesnake - Satriani - Malmsteen - Vai .... phew .. I could go on, and on ... and on ..... haha!
I just love music!! I can listen to all sorts - Rock, Pop, Classical, Jazz, Blues, R&B (preferably 60's), Funk, Motown, Philly, Ska, Reggae, Country (all styles - but especially Bluegrass .. that's my fave), Folk, Roots (I love Acoustic forms of music whatever the 'Genre' anyhow!)
I was brought up on a mix of Elvis, Beach Boys, Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Pink Floyd (saw them live on stage when they started out!) The Who, (ok .. I was a Mod!), Gratetful Dead, Walker Brothers, Springfields, Temptations, Four Tops, Supremes, Junior Walker & All-Stars, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Barry White ... the list goes on .... The Fortunes (Hi Rod!), Badfinger, Marmalade (hi Sandy!), Tremeloes, Fourmost, Swinging Blue Jeans, Barron Knights (yo dudes!), ...... and next week my list could be different! lol
So you see ... I have a wide and varied taste in music!
The band that I am REALLY into these days is KAVA KAVA from Huddersfield UK - their music can best be described as a hybrid of Disco/Funk/Rock ... or maybe Space Funk ... or Nu School Big Beat? - you really have to hear it to believe it! Surely the future of Funk and Dance is Kava Kava! Their Album MAUI was self-produced and released in 2004 - but is now getting more exposure (I have played them on my shows for two years mind!) and at last they look like getting rewarded for all the hard work and gigging - and their USA debut and showcase is at the SXSW in Austin TX on Tuesday March 13th (Rock their Souls dudes - just wish I could be there Pat).
And have you ever heard that recent Bill Shatner Album? IT ROCKS! lol
AND TALKING OF GREAT NEW MUSIC - CHECK OUT THE SUPER NEW ALBUM FROM JONATHAN COTTON 'THE ART OF CONVERSATION' - IT'LL MOVE YA FOR SURE! AND DON'T FORGET TO ALSO CHECK OUT THE PINDER BROTHERS - THEIR DEBUT ALBUM 'JUPITER FALLS' IS A BEAUTY!

Movies:

Not REALLY much of a 'Movies person' ... but my favourites are Sci-Fi Classics such as:-
'The Day The Earth Stood Still', 'This Island Earth', 'The War Of The Worlds', 'The Day Of The Triffids', 2001 A Space Odyssey', 'Bladerunner', 'Logan's Run', etc

Television:

I prefer Factual Television ... so I watch the Discovery Channel a lot! I also love 'The Sky At Night' on BBC Television with Patrick Moore (who has presented that programme for more years than I care to remember!)
The only other TV that I tend to watch is CNN and BBC for news, also Sci-fi such as 'The Twilight Zone' (old & new) and such things ... but in the past my faves have included 'Star Trek', 'Babylon 5' (and spin-off 'Crusade'), 'The Outer Limits', 'Highlander', and going further back 'Danger Man' (and spin-off 'The Prisoner'), 'Doctor Who' (David T is the BEST Doctor yet don't you agree?), 'The Fugative', 'Adam Adamant', 'Doomwatch' (poor Toby), etc, etc.Classic Live Television moments that really stick in my mind though are ones like the Assasination of JFK in '63, The Beatles on 'The London Paladium' in '64, the Moon Landing in '69, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and many more!

Books:

THE BIBLE, 'The Grapes Of Wrath', '1984', 'Animal Farm' and 'The Chrysalids' are my all-time favourites.
I love reading Poetry, Factual Books on Music, History, Science, People, Past Civilisations, etc. as well as Science Fiction including:- any story by Arthur C Clarke, Ray Bradbury, or John Wyndham, etc.

Heroes:

Anyone who puts others before themselves ....
