About Me

Hittin' the Note is a quarterly music magazine that covers such artists as the Allman Brothers Band, Govt Mule, Derek Trucks Band, Susan Tedeschi, the Black Crowes, the Grateful Dead, and many more.We focus on the artists that move music forward while still keeping foot in the musical traditions of blues, jazz, country and rock. Well, let me tell you who we've already met. We've had interviews with the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Taj Mahal, Bob Weir, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes Widespread Panic, Chuck Leavell, Jorma Kaukonen, Jack Casady, Randall Bramblett, Jimmy Herring, Chris Robinson, Steve Earle, Lee Roy Parnell, Jimmy Hall, Lucinda Williams, Susan Tedeschi, and David Crosby, just to name a few.

Music:

Besides the ones mentioned above, there are lots of great up and coming bands who are keeping the flame of quality music burning. Moonshine Still, Captain Soularcat, Tishamingo, and New Monsoon are just a few new bands that you might not know, but you should check them out!

Movies:

Almost Famous, School Of Rock, Tom Dowd and the Language of Music, The Allman Brothers Live at the Beacon Theater, Woodstock, 270 Miles to Graceland, Chuck Leavell Live at the Douglass Theater
