Influences: Begining on drums and percussion then moving on to guitar, I have been influenced by a huge variety of performers, from Jimmy Rogers 78s to ZZ Top and all points in between! A lot of my guitar sounds/style was begun while playing drums. My major influences on drums are: Gene Kruppa, Frank Beard, Corky Laing, Butch Trucks, Jaimoe, Carmen Appice and Ginger Baker. My guitar roots began on acoustic and was flavored by folks like: Doc&Merle Watson, Beatles, John Prine, Steve Goodman, Neil Young, Stephen Stills, bluegrass "masters", Leon Redbone, Ry Cooder, and many others. Electric guitar: J.J. Cale, George Harrison, David Gilmore, Duane Allman, Billy Gibbons, Clapton, Lowell George, Paul Barrere, Allen Collins, Toy Caldwell, and many others along the same style lines, but these were the most influential.
Sounds Like: ...Lots of different stuff! I've always listened to all (but opera-dont speak the language) types of music. I Guess Blues-Soul-Rock-Gospel-Bluegrass-Jam: Like most of us still looking for a "break", I'd like to think the eclectic mix of influences and listening preferences have all rubbed off and worked thier way into my playing/writing....
