About the Club
The Penny Arcade has always been known as the place to catch your favorite bands as they pass through the area. With a sound and lighting system that surpasses all, an enormous 40-foot bar to serve patrons, and an assortment of recreational games, the Penny Arcade is the perfect destination for you and your friends. Located in the scenic Charlotte Beach area, there is plenty of parking, and many locations for dining.
History
Originally opening in 1973, The Penny Arcade has been a staple of the live music scene in Rochester for over 30 years. While undergoing many renovations and changes in it's three decade history, The Arcade has always stayed true to it's roots in presenting live rock acts. The list of past and present performers is a veritable who's who of the music industry, not just on a National scale, but local talent as well.
Driving Directions
The Penny Arcade is located at 4785 Lake Avenue, near Ontario Beach Park, and the FastFerry harbor.
* Note to Commercial Vehicles: (Busses, trucks, etc.) The Ontario Parkway north of the Latta Rd. exit on 390 is closed to all commercial vehicles. If you are in a commercial vehicle, you must exit at Latta Rd, take a right onto Latta Rd EAST until it intersects with Lake Avenue, and take a left onto Lake Ave. NORTH to the Penny Arcade.
From The City:
North on State Street, which becomes Lake Avenue. Follow Lake Ave. all the way north to the Penny Arcade, which is the second-to-last building on the left side.
From the South:
North on 390 to the Parkway Exit, take the East Exit towards Rochester. Parkway ends on Lake Avenue. Turn left on to Lake Ave., follow it north 1 mile to the Penny Arcade, which is the second-to-last building on the left side.
From The West:
104 or 490 East to 390. North on 390 to the Parkway Exit, take the East Exit towards Rochester. Parkway ends on Lake Avenue. Turn left on to Lake Ave., follow it north 1 mile to the Penny Arcade, which is the second-to-last building on the left side.
From the South East:
490 West to 390. North on 390 to the Parkway Exit, take the East Exit towards Rochester. Parkway ends on Lake Avenue. Turn left on to Lake Ave., follow it north 1 mile to the Penny Arcade, which is the second-to-last building on the left side.
From the North East:
Rt. 104 West to Lake Avenue. Follow Lake Ave. all the way north to the Penny Arcade, which is the second-to-last building on the left side.

There are 3 20Amp circuits available for stage power. Extension cords and power strips are available in house
There is one 60Amp Single Phase Camloc disconnect available for additional lighting or sound should it be required
Camloc tie in is located on the Upstage Right corner of the stage

28' wide, 18' deep, 2' high.
8'x8'x2' Drum riser.
Ceiling height from stage deck is about 10 Feet
- 8 Feet over the drum riser
Load in and parking is directly behind the venue
- there is a loading dock but no ramp.
Please be sure to advance 4 to 6 loaders if you are rolling in with a van or bus and trailer.
There is currently one dressing room
- 8'x12' located directly off stage right
Broadband wireless internet is available
There are no backstage bathrooms or shower
Shore Power for Buses is not available
Lighting:
NSI 7024 24-channel lighting console.
36 Par56 300Watt fixtures over the stage.
Two 4-bars of ACL's.
6 Par56 300watt fixtures for front wash.
Lighting System is NOT DMX compatible
Our in house Gel Kit is minimal and contains:Rosco 22, Rosco 27, Rosco 312, Rosco 90, Lee 119, Lee 181, Lee 201
Additional equipment is available for rent from the Production company, assuming significant advanced requests, and availability. Equipment includes, but is not limited to: Backline, Additional conventional and special-effects lighting, Intelligent lighting, additional audio processing, microphones, In-ear monitors and PA/monitor equipment. Rental costs will be above and beyond contractual technical provisions.

Please do not request to be booked as an opener for a national show. Those bands are chosen by the tour promotion company personally, or referred amongst bands that have performed in the area consistently and have proven their value. If you are hoping to be booked at the Penny Arcade for the first time, the club management will review your information and book you on an appropriate open date.

Specials are not run on nights when there is a National Recording Artist Concert. The Penny Arcade may run unique specials on those evenings. Top shelf drinks are excluded from advertised specials unless otherwise noted. The Penny Arcade often showcases in house specials such as shots and signature drinks not advertised here on the website. Be sure to inquire about other specials.
Drink specials are subject to change without prior notice. The Penny Arcade reserves the right to change or end these promotions at any time.
