NEW CD! I love music and I always have. I sang in the gospel choir of our Southern Baptist Church at the ripe old age of 3 years old. I was told I was much too "LOUD" and was drowning out the other singers, (who were 10 years or more older than me). I've gotten older (much older), but it doesn't bother me at all. I had my brush with fame in the 80's with the Canadian Band, TORONTO whom I still tour with. You know you've been on the road for a very long time when you can tell what year it is by your stage outfit. This year I am teaming up with Barry Connors, who recorded and toured with Toronto and we will be playing selected shows throughout Canada. The band Barry has put together is awesome, and I cannot WAIT to get up there and front it!
I have a new CD coming out April 1st, 2007, with my writing partner, Scott Kreyer, (also originally with the band TORONTO). This CD is comprised of myself and Scott writing, producing, and arranging every song on it. We are very proud of "Live It Up", and I hope you'll all love it as well. I grew up in the south, where I was steeped in R&B, soul and funk music.The year I lived in New Orleans, taught me more about singing from the depths of my soul, more than all the years on the road put together, and it shows in my voice, and continues to influence my vocals. I LOVE The Blues with a bit of rock thrown in, and to me, Janis Joplin combines the 2 genres better than any other vocalist ever has, or probably ever will. I write my music with rock AND blues in mind, combining my influences with everything I've learned about myself, AND my voice along the way. I am single, and I'll probably stay that way, I'm stuck in my ways and I love my kitty cats. I play my music LOUD and I sing it EVEN LOUDER!!! I'll continue touring and recording until they tell me to please stop, because I can't hear myself anymore!
