In January 2006, Zero Divide began half seriously with founding members Steve Smith and Dave Decker on guitar. It soon grew into a solid project when drummer Aaron Coalbank and bassist Josh Mendoza were enlisted a few weeks later. After several months of writing and practicing, the band began playing shows in Portland and Salem. By the time summer rolled around, Zero Divide had developed a small but loyal fan base.
Travis Lien was brought in to replace Dave Decker on guitar at the end of summer. During the following year, the band wrote and recorded several songs and played over a dozen successful shows.
Unfortunately, Zero Divide hit a major rough patch when Steve had to be let go and Aaron quit shortly after. The two remaining members worked hard at finding replacements, but faced difficulty for months before having any success. Drummer Jason Borton joined in November of 2007 and vocalist Adam Lawson joined a few months later. After 5 successful shows with that line-up, Jason was let go. The band is currently writing and preparing to record their own demo. More to come soon....
