Pro Bono Publico!

About Me

Former Professor Emeritus, Kings College of Carnival Knowledge, Mid-City New Orleans Campus. Now, a roving researcher keeping an active chronicle of all things Carnival and Mardi Gras-related. Discover all you ever need to know about your humble Professor online at:The Compleat Carnival Conpendium and Mardi Gras Manual: http://carlnivale.theatricana.com

My Interests

Well, Carnival obviously--I do spend almost all my free time doing research and studies. Also, I actively pursue such activities as live theatre, public radio, educational techniques, hiking, and keeping myself in my best physical conditions for catching beads, cups, and doubloons on parade days!

I'd like to meet:

Every Comus since 1857; all of the Merry Monarchs, including Lewis Salaman; the first year's courts of Les Mystereuse and the Krewe of Yuga; Former King of Zulu, Louis Armstrong; Henri Schindler, Lyle Saxon, Robert Tallant, Perry Young-the keepers of Carnival history!; Alvin B. Sharpe, inventor of the doubloon...and Queen Purpleena!

Television:

My television viewing time is limited, but I do enjoy The Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel, and I have always been a fan of the Peggy Scott Laborde specials on New Orleans...and of course, the annual Meeting of the Courts on WYES-TV. The most important broadcast of the year!

Books:

"The Mystick Krewe" by Perry Young "Fabulous New Orleans" by Lyle Saxon Anything by Henri Schindler, Robert Tallant, George Cable, Mary Lou Widmer
