I wasn’t raised on a farm… I don’t know how to ride horses… I’ve never owned a pair of “cowboy†boots… and I still wonder, what’s the big deal about sweet tea?
I’m obviously not from around here…
…but I’m not exactly from anywhere. The truth is, my family moved a lot when I was growing up (Pennsylvania, Kansas, Boston, Colorado, California… oh, did I mention I was born in Delaware?). I realize none of these places are in the South, so what brought me to Nashville?
The HONESTY of the music. Country music is REAL. It started with people sitting around their homes singing songs about things that were going on in their lives… back then it was drinking, cheating, heart break, etc.…
…oh wait, that’s still what it is! And ya know what? I wasn’t raised on a farm… I don’t know how to ride horses… I’ve never owned a pair of “cowboy†boots… but I KNOW what being real is and that is the only way I KNOW how to write. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my real thoughts with the world and I hope you all… or as they say around here, I hope “ya’ll†enjoy the music!
Love,
Courtney
