So, what is Hot Liquid Sex, really? It's a band of feisty firecrackers from Brisbane, Australia, set to jack you full in the face with their quirky pop romps, moody mid-tempos and some of the best rock anthems this side of Karen O. More punchy power-pop girls than Powerpuff girls, their mission statement is: mix it up, have fun, and take a buzzsaw to the status quo like the clique-busting misfits they are - oh yeah, and make metrosexuals realize just how ridiculous their hair is.
But best of all, Hot Liquid Sex ain't just a band name - it's a concept. Hell, its whatever you want it to be! Originating from the fashion world, where two of the band members met, those three little words originally huddled together in a phrase to describe well, the indescribable. What was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction? Hot liquid sex, of course.
So, there you have it. Together, Ocean, Ange and Ruth are Hot Liquid Sex, in all senses of the phrase. Normally, in the fashion world, by the time you've finished writing about what's 'now', it's then - but HLS are so 'now' they're almost next week. And they'll stay 'next week' until at least Tuesday. Guaranteed.

"Hot Liquid Sex put on a solid (if very un-sleazy) performance for the good sized audience at the Troubadour." (Fasterlouder.com.au) Read full review.
