Conceptualized first and then finally realised in 2007, Gladstone & Lochaber (pronounced Lock-ah-ber) have been gigging hard and turning many heads in the process. Both interstate and at home in Brisbane, G&L have attracted a loving and loyal fanbase.
The music is made from drums, bass, dual guitars, keyboards, samples, treated beats, wooshes, swooshes and what can only be described as tinkly winkly sprinklings of diamond dust. Such elements are influenced by the likes of Massive Attack, U2, The Cure, Air and Unkle. Limiting the on-stage banter, G&L like to let the music speak for itself.
The band's collection of personalities reflects a collaboration of musical influences, experiences and messages. From Stone Roses to La vie en Rose, Gladstone & Lochaber comprise melodies of love, loss, contentment and pure bliss. You can't help but drop into the vibe of what G&L produce. With a confident front man projecting a strong, expressive voice, the lyrics soar across the soft stereo image of two intertwined guitars, programmed samples and the thunderous tones of the bass and drum.
With an ethos rooted in the psychedelic experience; Gladstone & Lochaber confront the listener with questions of divinity and present a vast, radiant palette of sound and groove for your aural pleasure.
