Idle|Cranes are a psychedelic rock band from Brisbane, Australia. The four-piece formed in 2007, amidst the final flourish of the 80s indie revival. The band have played extensively since then, frequenting the slowly dwindling indie venues, vaguely profound acid parties and DIY guerrilla gigs that lay across the burgeoning city.
Idle|Cranes could be lazily described as a combination of Brian Jonestown Massacre, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Storm In Heaven-era The Verve, though none of the Cranes would necessarily cite these groups as influences. Nor will they suggest acute uniqueness in this space, as the precursors in any artistic endeavour are always blatantly evident – assuming that one is suitably knowledgeable.
