About Me

Ryan D. Hackney grew up in the deep, dark hills of Eastern Kentucky, and has been playing guitar since he was able to hold one. Even through years of broken bones, cut tendons, and countless cuts and bruises, all to his hands!, he has never stopped. Not even when he played his guitar with bloody fingers and a cast to his elbow, he never quit. (He had his hand set to where he could still play fingerstyle.) To meet him without his guitar you would never believe he knew how to even hold one, but when he starts to play...watch out! From blues to rock, country to metal, he can play it, and with the best out there. Ryan has the ability to draw upon any influence and make it his own. He has a style and tone that are all his own through years of pratice and honing, and each is very reconizeable. From the first note to the last you know who is playing. I just wish the songs you hear really gave him justice, but to really appreciate his talents, is to see him play in person. Take a listen and you will agree, Ryan D. Hackney is a talent.'Anonymous'

Influences: Who couldn't I name?!? Billy F. Gibbons, and Warren Haynes top the list, but I can't forget players like Brian Setzer, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, and Angus Young. I grew up listening to bands that ranged fom Leslie Gore and Frankie Valli, all the way through most every Hank Williams, Roger Miller, and Alabama album ever released. Let me not forget though the bands like Aerosmith, Metallica, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and a whole slew of classic rock and metal bands that are far too numerous to list. If I hear it, I seem to find a way to incorporate it all in some way or another. Just depends on the song.
