About Me

G'day.......How the hell are ya?
Folks call me the Bobster, welcome to my homepage.
The instrumentals here are some little jams I did back in the summer of 98. I found them in a box under my bed recently. They were all dusty, so I cleaned them up a bit, blew off the dust and had a listen......
They reminded me of a time when my fingers were nimble, and I could get around the fretboard with ease, so I decided to try and save them.
After a bit of trial and error using about 4 software programs, I was able to convert the choons from analogue tape to .wavs and then to .mp3's. next I saved em on my hard drive.
From there I thought. " Hey.......maybe I can put em online"?
So here they are, a few little noodlings, just to see if it could be done......
Anyhoo....I seem to pick up some new hobbies or interests every year..... right now its making mini movies and photography, computer graphics, drawing and fugging with my guitars and drum machine.
Ive been back in Vegas since 98, prior to that I was a glass blower / practicing artist, and studio technician at Wanganui Polytech. Had tons of fun there, met tons of cool artists and musicians, and basically had a blast.
Had my own flat and loved it, even felt like settling down a few times over that way, but Im far too ornery for that caper.
About the trax
I recorded "Stray Cats Jamtrack" coz I wanted to noodle around with some solo ideas, and needed a backing track.....I just doubled the main riff and multi tracked the bass and chords straight to the PC, its obviously based on Brian Setzers song "Stray Cat Strut"....and "Hey Hey" is based on Neil Youngs "Hey Hey My My" which is one of the first songs that got me into the guitar back in the 80's.
The other choons "Noodles in G" and "One summer night" are originals and were mostly made up on the spot, so Ive got no idea what scales I was using, or which key I was in...... back then I could think of a line, riff or phrase and instantly go there to play it, but its a different story now haaa!! but thats what happens when you never finish your music theory lessons.
Fuck music theory anyway...!!!
So anyways....whoever you are........
Cheers and thanks for droppin by.

Additional songs.
I added two more choons which are more recent creations. "Time to make my move" was arranged using my old drum machine and a wah pedal on the guitar. The last choon was done with music making software and I just spent a few days figuring out the beats, accents, and basslines, then added horns and synth parts plus some vocal samples from MUSIC 2001. The track is called "Shake it baby" ...... anyhoo......thanx again for droppin by.

Something I found online that makes so much sense its freaky!!

Ya know I get heartily sick of hearing paper thin arguments defending Bush and the neocons. Theyre always based on other peoples assumptions, and never have any real evidence to back them up....no one...
