"Jason Hawks is a great new drummer. He has great time, power and a wonderful sense of melody on his drums. He is definitely going places. He is one of a new breed that will lead generations of fans and musicians." - Carmine Appice (Drumming Legend).
Growing up on a farm in Illinois, Jason Hawks started playing drums at the age of six. so young in fact, that his private instructor wouldn't accept him unless Jason's Mother sat in on each lesson. Luckily, she didn't mind (too much).
Jason followed his dreams out to Los Angeles, CA. In L.A., he entered Musician's Institute's Percussion Institute of Technology, where he studied under drumming greats like Ralph Humphrey and Joe Pocarro. After graduating from MI, Jason quickly established himself as a much sought after session and touring drummer.
Jason recently recorded and toured as a member of Windswept recording artist The Drew Davis Band. The DDB won the 2004 Colgate Country Showdown, which earned them the title The Best New Act in Country Music. Their debut album hits stores in spring 2006. Jason also has toured with Matthew and Gunnar Nelson of the multi-platinum act Nelson, Wayne Brady (of ABC's hit television series "Who's Line Is It Anyway?"), Bransombe Richmond (of TV's Renegade) and former Giant recording artist Zaca Creek. Jason was a founding member of LA club favorites Carbon 9, and has recorded two critically acclaimed full length CD's with the band. You can also hear Jason's playing on top television jingles for products like Coor's Light.
Jason currently resides in Los Angeles with his best friend - his wife of two years, Brianne, and a whole stable of animals. He is currently playing and recording around Los Angeles, looking for that next great opportunity.
"Always in the top his class, Jason Hawks brings to the mix a rhythmic skill enhanced by years of experience as a performer." - Premier Radio Networks
