About Me

This page is a pale shadow of the real me... Elaborate propaganda does not change who you really are.

My Interests

THE JOMSVIKINGS - I am a fully trained dark-age showfighter and I fight with the Jomsvikings and Jomsborg Elag UK. I was trained with axe, sword and shield, spear, seax and florentine styles by Philip Burthem and his fight assistants Qanun and Norman Hewitt. I received personal training with sword and seax from Nikolaj Petersen (Raven's Elag) and spear from Dean Hobbs (Jomsborg Elag UK). SCYTHIAN - My Active musical project (Mix of extreme metal styles, mostly black, thrash and death). I founded this band with J.C. Volgard in 2004. After recruiting S.Vrath on vocals and bass we signed to Galactic Records in the summer of 2007 for a conditional three album contract.

I'd like to meet:

Slavonic AncestorsThe ScythiansMusashi Miyamoto - Greatest swordsman of all time.Toshiro MifuneQuorthon. RIP.The Teutonic OrderAlexander Nevsky

Music:

Extreme Metal, Ambient, Classical (Traditional and Contemporary), Electronic, Epic Film Scores, Scandinavian and Eastern European Folk, Medi..even the Christian period) World Music, Blues and unconventional hybrids of these, Any music that stimulates thought, ideas and creates atmosphere. Narrow-mindedness is pointless and best left to the weak.

Movies:

The Seventh Seal (Ingmar Bergman), Alexander Nevsky (Sergei Eisenstein), Conan the Barbarian (John Milius), Kagemusha, Sanjuro, Yojimbo, Rashomon, The Hidden Fortress, Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa), The Name of the Rose (Jean-Jaques Annaud), All Quiet on the Western Front (Louis Milestone), Stalingrad (Joseph Vilsmaier), Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (George Miller), 28 Days Later (Danny Boyle), Children of Men (Alfonso Cuarón), Escape from NY (John Carpenter) Lawrence of Arabia (David Lean), Alfred the Great (Clive Donner) El Cid (Samuel Bronston), The 13th Warrior (John McTiernan), Erik the Viking (Terry Jones), The Adventures of Baron von Munchausen (Terry Gilliam), Macbeth (Roman Polanski), American Gangster, Blade Runner (Ridley Scott), Battle Royale (Takeshi Kitano), Ogniem i Mieczem, Stara Basn (Jerzy Hoffman).

Television:

Comedy or Documentaries.

Books:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms, The Havamal, The Book of Five Rings, The Art of War, History Books on the Early Medieval Period, The Crusades, Antiquity (The Roman Empire, Ancient Greece, The Persian Wars and anything peripheral), the occasional High Fantasy author (Robert E. Howard, David Gemell, Tolkien), Philosophy and Theology (anyone from Descartes and Nietschze to Thomas Aquinas and Anselm of Canterbury), the odd literary classic (G.K. Chesterton, Voltaire, Dostoyevsky, Tennyson). I'm not big on fiction but I am definitely guilty of the occasional read - life is too short to trawl through all the maybes and what-ifs. Reading leads to a power greater than any other - KNOWLEDGE.

Heroes:

Miyamoto Musashi, George Orwell, My Father, Alfred the Great, Zawisza Czarny, Egil Skallagrim, Loki (The God), Quorthon, Raymond of Toulouse, Kuan Yu, Nobunaga Oda, Alexander the Great and those who have stood alone against many.

The anaesthetic has worn off... My head is definitely throbbing like hell. If only it wasn’t such a bitch to chew... I’d have bloodily converted a good steak by now. So what’s the pu...

The solitude of the wastes.

I have relocated to East Anglia from the sprawling metropolis that some call purgatory but others call 'London' for the next few months. So far I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of this ancient pl...
