Feel the darkness, now you're one of us

About Me

I'm an Amazonian goddess, the Benevolent Empress Of The Desert (thanks Pamita!), and a rock 'n' roll graphic designer, photographer, writer and all-around great gal. I'm currently the Listings Coordinator for the awesome alt-weekly Las Vegas CityLife .I own half of the t-shirt company Shuttlecock Ink . I was a DJ at KUNV during the infamous and award-winning Rock Avenue days, which means I've been involved in the Vegas indie-rock/punk scene since 1990. I'm out of retirement now and occasionally you can find me spinning with my awesome, all-grrl punk-rockin' DJ sisters the Beauty School Dropout DJs , and the fabulous Bargain DJ Collective with whom I hosted 11 insane Punk Rock Bingo nights at the Double Down Saloon before the gaming control board told us we had to stop.
Despite my mother's best efforts I have always been weird. My poodle has a mohawk and to frighten people I tell them his name is Travis Bickle, but it's really Boscoe (after the dog in One Crazy Summer) and my Pomeranian is El Diablo, but thanks to Korby everyone calls him Pedro now. I drive a convertible because I love the open road and the wind in my hair, or as Drew Barrymore said in the film Poison Ivy, "One day with the top down is better than a whole lifetime in a box."
I dislike cold, tomatoes, racists, that freaky baby corn, airplanes, slobs, mayo, cockroaches, conservative politics, rotten customer service and liars.

My Interests

Halloween, Punk, Rock n Roll, drinking Jack Daniel's, pinball, hot rods and muscle cars, tikis, waffles, bingo, setting things on fire, haunted hotels, using my AAA emergency vehicle service to rescue my friends, weird games designed by the Transogram Company, roadtrips, mixing up classic cocktails, ghost towns, roller derby, photographing tattooed people, poodles and driving in reverse ala The Dukes Of Hazzard.

I'd like to meet:

Absolutely no one... however, I do admire people who will take off their shoes to prove a point.

Music:

The Clash, Ramones, X, Young Fresh Fellows, Afghan Whigs, The Replacements, Sinatra, Dino, Decendents, Nashville Pussy, El Orbits, Sebadoh, Lazy Cowgirls, Wipers, Modey Lemon, Husker Du, SOB, Flash Express, Louis Prima... just about anything and everything not in the mainstream.

Movies:

The Big Lebowski, High Fidelity, Night of the Lepus, Harold and Maude, Trust, Happiness, Rock n Roll High School

Television:

I LOVE my DVR!... therefore I watch a lot of crap.

Books:

Alice In Wonderland, The Little Prince, almost anything by Kurt Vonnegut or Lester Bangs. Often I just read odd-ball books loaned to me by others.

Heroes:

All the fabulous women who are actively trying to make a difference in our messed-up world.
