Emily Mure graduated from Ithaca College with a music degree in oboe performance and a concentration in psychology. She has been writing since a young age and picked up guitar when she was 18. In the fall of 06' she recorded a demo in Ithaca New york with fellow friends Ben Plass, Rob Bass, and Justin Wixson. She took her songwriting to Ireland for six months in 07' where she played as a busker on the streets of Galway. Here she met musicians such as Ryan Langois (of Ryan and the Lions), Phillip Marrow (of The Red Rose Cafe), and the lads from Cartoon thieves. With these musicians who became fast friends she began to play around town in venues like The Crane Bar, Amnesty Cafe, and The Roisin Dubh. She returned home to New York City in August to focus on recording her first full album and has hopes to host for herself and friends a tour across America in 2008. Stay tuned for updates on the album and gig dates in New York City this fall.
