2008 was a hectic year for Galway 4-piece Disconnect 4. They've gigged the length & breadth of the country with the likes of Fight Like Apes, Delorentos, Future Kings of Spain, Cazals, Le Galaxie, The Dirtbombs, The Brothers Movement, and The Things, everywhere from Whelan's and The Village in Dublin to the Speakeasy (Belfast), Dolan's (Limerick), The Stables (Mullingar), The RóisÃn Dubh (Galway) and The Pavillion (Cork). They've also got a live 2fm session with Dan Hegarty, a session with Muzu.tv and an appearance on TG4 under their belts, not to mention being selected for the Best of Myspace Podcast (which is among the top 100 podcasts on iTunes) and Unsigned Band of the Month on British music network site CMU in November. They've headlined Green & Live in Limerick and the Galway date of the IMRO tour as well as Metro in Waterford, played Strange Brew 300, The Summer Shindig and New Year's Eve in the RóisÃn Dubh, and been a part of Psychotic Reaction in Crawdaddy and the Bud Rising festival. Two tracks recorded with producer Ciarán O'Shea, The Rise and We Are That, got regular airings on major radio stations (including 2fm, Today FM and Phantom FM), and garnered praise from Dan Hegarty ("The new material is really good!) and Alison Curtis ("It is fantastic, really love it"), among others.2009 will see Disconnect 4 maintain their heavy gigging schedule, but also in the pipeline is the release of The Rise as a single, record a session for BBC radio 1 'Introducing" as well as being featured on Steve Lemaq's shoow on BBC Radio 1. They are currently recording an EP with Kitsuné producer / Cazals member Martin Dubka.
