DON THE WRITER:
HERE ARE MY BOOKS (Horror Ficition, Poetry, Mystery and Sci-Fi):
"BLIND GHOSTS WITHIN THE FLESH OF THE HEART": Myself and model/actress SOFIYA SMIRNOVA (www.sofiya-smirnova.com) are joining forces to create a sensual and breath-stealing book of erotic mystery - coming soon in early 2007
"WHEN A SECOND IS FOREVER": With a drop dead funny introduction by friend and underground cult fave horror author Joe Knetter, When a Second is Forever is A love story amidst the end of days - this tale is a look into the broken hearts and minds of those lonely many left behind by another, left with nothing but confusion and sadness weighing down upon their souls. Set in a landscape of horror and extreme violence, I explore the question "Can someone with a pure heart, passion and drive, someone who is doing something in the name of love and selflessness - can he/she actually conquer all?" After 2 chapters though, my original editor said it's too graphic to continue reading and then he quit on me - what a lightweight. Targeted for the horror market, fans of Takashi Miike or Evil Dead should enjoy this bloody little treat with heart. This novella has been selling like a son of a bitch.
" A touching bloodbath with likeable characters, lots of visuals and a refreshing twist on the zombie genre." - Jason Stephenson, Director Off The Beaten Path and Doomed To Consume
"ARMAGEDDON: A LOVE STORY": A private detective is hired to track an extremely violent Serial Killer, when the police can't seem to figure a goddamn thing out or get any clues or suspects, by a woman who has lost a daughter. All in the midst of a cult war, losing his girlfriend and the powers of Hell coming to earth, he must battle his insecurities, inner demons and his mysterious past to bring peace back to his home town.
"VEGAS SUICIDES: 13 WAYS TO DIE": An old vegas rat hole motel that used to be a gathering spot for the classic movie actors and sophisto's is haunted by tales of people commiting suicide or getting killed within it's walls in many disturbing and gruesome ways.
"A BLACK ROSE BLEEDING": My attempt to breath life into the dead, cliche and worn-out genre of vampires. A slave girl to the head Vampire in a big city setting, gets medieval when that son of a bitch kills her brother and a preist when they try to help her escape his grasp.
"THE VERISIMILAR NIGHTMARE AND OTHER ILLUSIONS": A collection of all my short fiction work, including creepy children stories and some other shit that I've done along the way - but still a good variety.
"THE KIDNAPPED CAT": A children's story that I won two awards for - "best original idea for a children's story" and "best illustration work in a children's story".
POETRY:
WASTED TEARS FOR AN UNWORTHY WORLD
SAMURAI'S SNOW
BUDDHA AND THE LOST CHILDREN
LOVE AND INSOMNIA
CRIMSON CLOUDS OVER STORMING SEAS
In all of my stories, I investigate the character's inner beings and the reasons behind their actions, more so then focusing on what they do - to me why they do something is more important - why they stand and fight for what they believe in is more important - like a person - I care more about the soul that drives that person then the shell that stands before me. My work is based on my beliefs in psychological theory and study, philosophy and spirituality. I also base much of what I write on experience and the study of other's experiences. I also write horror reviews for UNSPEAKABLE MAG and I do international movie reviews for SICKBOY magazine. I just started working on my first screenplay and have 2 graphic novels kicking around in the background- I keep myself pretty busy.

My first movie was a supernatural horror called THE ANCIENT and I had a co-starring role. It was in select theatres in Sept. 2005 and played at a few Horror Cons and Fests. The DVD is available for purchase through Necroscope Entertainment. My second film was a short called TOUGH LOVE and I played "the hitman with no name". My Third film wrapped at the end of 2005 and was called INFECTED but due to a legal battle over the name with a game company it's been changed to DOOMED TO CONSUMED. I ain't big on the name. I liked Infected, but you win some you lose some. The film is currently in post-production. In this flick I am a zombie ass-kicking bad ass caught up in a game of survival in a world with out many options or escapes. It's gory, it's horror and it's badass. SURVIVAL was up next on my list of things to do and I at long last got to play the really bad guy. In an attempt to bring a real horror movie with some balls to the eyes of those who are sick to shit of low budget garbage and shitty Hollywood Teen Horror Flicks - The producers and those involved have collected an ocean of talent to make a classic, something worth buying and watching again and again. It is now in post-production with a release date of 2007. Future projects include THE TENTH AXIS written by writer/producer KEVIN WOODS (BUY, SELL, KILL and WISEGUYS VS. ZOMBIES - which is on TROMA.) Also will be working with the ever-vigilant Tracy Crockett on OMEGA DE SANGRE a werewolf/vampire horror epic. TRACY AND KEVIN are awesome, they bust their asses for the art they care most about and are the nicest guys around, so support 'em and they are on my space so seek them out. Also finished a project called "Holier Than Thou" were I play the lead role as a demented Preacher and I'll soon be moving on to a Feature length Boxing Movie untitled as of yet. '06 is a busy year for this boy and looks like 2007 is gonna be nuts too.

THE ILLUSTRATOR: A Self-taught artist, I work in pencil - I hate charcoal and pastels. I won an award for my children's book "best illustration in a children's book" a few years back. I did study Sumi-e and Chinese brush painting for some time, but I ain't much a painter otherwise. My love for all types of art and my appreciation for different things/my thirst for the new drives me to do something different and push myself to different ways of seeing the same thing. I love Renaissance period painting, Asian traditional art and though I appreciate impressionism - I really dislike it and its chunky, messy brush strokes. I always wanted to sculpt but never gave it a try. Recent artists that I've seen that have caught my eye are: Chris Mars, Ai Yamaguchi, Seonna Hong. ***I have decided to retire myself from the world of illustration***
THE MUSICIAN: I have studied a few instruments in my day - kinda like a jack-of-all trades and def a master of none. I studied the piano, guitar, drums, sax and the shakuhachi (Japanese flute). I am no good with wind instruments they make me dizzy and give me a headache. For a few years time, I was a singer and front man for a couple of east coast punk bands. I listen to all kinds of music, though not too big on country or hip-hop, I appreciate them and can deal with it. I might not like country too much but Johnny Cash is a fucking legend. I always have music going - I see my life like a movie, I want a good, cool soundtrack playing in the background.
THE MARTIAL ARTIST: Been into Martial Arts now seemingly forever. I studied Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese arts and both soft hand and hard hand, internal and external. I was an assistant instructor while working as an operations manager for a security corporation, teaching joint locks, pressure point manipulation and fighting tactics in the field to new hires and trainees. I had the great honour of training under C.B. Bunkholt for a short period of time. He is the world lightweight kickboxing champion. I studied a few weapons including the art of Japanese swordsmanship, knuchucku, and the windstaff technique. For a two-year period I was on a boxing team before leaving the east to come here.
THE BUDDHIST: Religiously I am Agnostic, but follow a path guided by Buddhist philosophy. I don't drink, don't smoke, but really could care less if anyone else does. If they choose to do so around me, it does not bother me. What works in my life I do not expect it to work for others. They choose their own paths as I have chosen my own. I do not judge them and in return wish not to be judged. I follow the eightfold path and try very hard to stay a good person in a world filled with thieves, liars and illusions. I do not preach my philosophies for I hate people shoving their own beliefs down my throat. Live your life and I'll live mine. I've seen so many wars caused by religion though, so many dead and gone - just so people can spread their words of peace - humanity is so blind and ignorant.
