Influences: Life in General. All the musical influences are much to lengthy to list them all, but to name a few of the important ones: Freddie King, B.B. King, Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Howlin' Wolf, T-Bone Walker, Gatemouth Brown, Ray Sharpe, Muddy Waters, James Cotton, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Robert Ealey, Bobby Bland, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, early Rolling Stones, Ronnie Earl, Joey Defrancesco, Chuck Brown, Michael Walden..... Just to name a few.
Sounds Like: The Smokin Jaze are a high energy blues band. With Danny's agressive Texas style blues guitar & vocals, and, along with "Smokin" Joe's burnin' Chicago style harp & vocals, the band has an overwelming "up front" blues attitude. None of that would be possible without the support of a monster rhythm section by having Dave, on bass, and Jim, on drums.
Don't let the "Blues" tag fool ya, though. There's some classic Rock & Roll, R&B, and and even a tinge of Jazz just to spice things up and keep the excitment happening. The goal of The Smokin Jaze is to create an infectious groove worth making you want to get up and boogie, or just kickin' back with a brew and dig the show.
