About Me

Mandy Gale's love of music and singing was always strong, this showing at a young age. Her earliest recording is a Memorex tape of her singing Linda Ronstadt's 'Blue Bayou' at 3 years old, during one of the family talks sessions her parents taped as she was growing up. Her mother, a classically trained pianist, and father (a Kentucky native) had a large influence in her subconsciously developing musical taste. She started eagerly developing her love of music and writing, particularly poetry, at age 15. She became fascinated with talents such as Van Morrison, Tom Waits, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan. (Its no surprise a love for the Blues/Folk/Country and Classic Rock traditions show through her unique style.) Her love for writing then led her to graduate from Cal State University, Northridge with a BA degree in Journalism, as her passion for the written word blossomed. In February 2006, she was nominated by the Southern California Music Awards for 'Best Blues' with her original song, 'Before You Got to Lovin Me', an energetic blues-rockin tune with reckless abandon and fiery ambition. Mandy Gale was also named 'Runner Up' in the 2005 and 2007 VH1 Song of the Year Songwriting contest. This year with 'Highway Blues', a pseudo-psychedelic blues rock tune, an ode to the dream of life on the road. The former, with her emotionally gripping duet, 'This Little Girl', a song she wrote about what seems to be a heartbreakingly distant but loving relationship with her father. This September, 2007 she was a Finalist in the top 5 for 'One More Day', and December, 2007 for 'At Home With Alone'.Her sound has been described as "Sultry, Truthful, and Americana Gold," by some of the Industry's top professionals. Today her love of truth, humanity, freedom and natural beauty speak through her lyrics, music and poems. Her greatest joy and purpose is to unite others through her songs and stories. To express and appreciate life's meaning through love, beauty and even hardship.___________________________________________________ _I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
