LYRANTHE

About Me

Lyranthe was originally conceived by Will Anderson as a project where he could forfill all of his musical desires and diversity. After moving to Seattle in 2001 and enduring yet another band breakup he decided the time was right to pursue his "Dream" band. After many long months of searching, countless auditions, and a great deal of patience, the lineup was complete. Guitarists Primo Pulanco and Mike Lewin along with bassist Rain DeLeon, vocalist Walter Ballard and Will on drums released Lyranthes' debut CD "Oculus Inferno" in October of 2003. Although a self-produced effort, the band was able to attract audiences and critical acclaim from prog fans in the Seattle area. Frans Keylard of The Dividing Line, was one such fan, featuring Lyranthe on his weekly internet radio show, The Rogues Gallery. This in turn brought the groups music to listeners in The Netherlands, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and other points around the world. Frans Keylard became an integral member of the group, signing on as manager and promoter of Lyranthe. In 2004, the band signed a distribution deal with Lone Wolf Music for their Oculus Inferno CD in both national and international markets. They also collaborated with Shawn Bishop from The Dividing Line to re-mix and co-produce the re-release of Oculus Inferno through Lone Wolf Music. In 2005, due to the departure of Walter, Mike and Rain, Will and Primo decided they wanted to take the bands sound in a slightly different way and this paved the way for vocalist Peter Orullian, keyboardist Robert Benson and bassist Chad Thomas to join the group, starting a new chapter for the band. This lineup rehearsed for several months and played shows supporting Therion and Stratovarius. In 2006 Chad left the group and the band hired bassist Lizzy Daymont to play several shows over the following months supporting Sonata Artica, Spocks Beard, Celador and The FlowerKings. Lizzy also contributed to the further development of new material being written for the next CD.2007 brought many trials as guitarist Primo Pulanco decided to retire and focus his time and energy towards his family. Newly signed bassist Peter Serrana spent only a few months with the group before resigning to move to Guam.....to be continued.....
