Band Members: my solo project is my name, and as of this past winter i'm working with some really wonderful musicians to make my songs breathe more... they are anna fritz the cellist, michael papillo the upright bassist, and justin stimson the drummer & guitarist. it's been magical so far. i'm also in a band called heroes & villains (aka heros & villians) in which i am the pianist/back-up vocalist. adam raitano is our fearless leader, on guitar and vocals. maranda dabel plays a bit of electric guitar, the bell set, mandolin, and sings lead as well. leviethan cecil rocks out on bass and sings back-up with myself and scott magee, who grows a few more limbs so he can really tear it up on the drums. i am also very proud and blessed to be a part of the nick jaina band, a constantly evolving conglomerate of portland musical freaks. it is in this project that i am growing as an accordionist (though very slowly) and revisiting my clarinet-playing skills, if that's what you'd call them. and i have also been recently welcomed into the thrilling psychological fold of mr. frederick, the solo project of portland native justin stimson, who has been in at least 1,537 bands in the last twelve years. that's a wonderful record. i dare you to beat it. i bet you can't. and NOW there is a band of folks called rainbow & the kittens... meeeeeeeeooooooowww!! we will crash your convenience. watch out.
Influences: schumann, scott joplin, my dad, tom waits, rachmaninoff, old dione warwick, beach boys, (i have to admit) tori amos, anouar brahem, chopin, noe venable, guilt, pain, sadness, disgust, anger, love, past lives, my hungarian gypsy blood. . . maybe some more i can't think of right now. . .
