Jackie Greene
www.jackie-greene.com
Dubbed “The Prince of Americana†by the New York Times, Greene is steeped in country, blues, jazz, rock and folk traditions, defying easy categorization. The 27-year-old Californian already has a wealth of experience under his belt, along with a seemingly bottomless well of musical inspiration that's made him one of America's hottest young roots artists.
Greene released the critically acclaimed "American Myth" on Verve Forecast in March of 2006 and has since headlined tours nationwide, received overwhelming praise from Adult Album Alternative Radio and has appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien
Jackie also performed at Bonaroo and Wakarusa Festivals this summer while on his first national headlining tour.
Venturing outside of his own compositions Jackie Greene was also featured on the Brokeback Mountain Soundtrack and most recently was chosen to perform on a Warner Brothers "Tribute to The Band" album, released in 2007.
What will happen next to Jackie Greene....who knows...keep your eye on this rising star.
Sal Valentino
www.DigMusic.com
Sal Valentino is truly a living legend. Famed lead singer of The Beau Brummels and manic front man for the 70’s pschycadelic-funk-rock-full-stage-extravaganza, Stoneground, Sal continues to share his gift with the world. His newest release, “Every Now And Then†features Sal doing what he does best, interpreting songs and stories that can only be delivered (by what has been referred to by rock historians, as) “the most underrated voice in Rock and Roll history. As a nod to the past, Valentino covers The Beau Brummels biggest hit “Laugh, Laugh†evoking memories of the innocence of early 60’s rock and roll without the slightest bit of regret that time has moved on. “Every Now And Then†is a musical road map of life and features heart-wrenching songs like the Greene’s title tune, to the jangly rock guitar-drenched “What The World Needs†to the bouncy duet with Chris Webster, “Just Like Youâ€. “Every Now And Then†is a new piece of history, a road map of the long and twisted back-roads of rock that lead us to today. .
Chris Webster
www.chriswebstermusic.com
On the stage, Chris Webster comes out swinging with a washboard on her chest and a set that segues from rowdy Texas stomp/blues/country to dark and sulty folk ballads. You only need to see her once to realize she has that intangible It Factor. Back and forth between Sacramento and Nashville, Webster has garnered respect from fans, musicians and media/press/industry across the country.
Currently Webster is writing and fine tuning songs preparing for a new recording and a global release in January of 2007. Websters new CD, Something In The Water will feature a host of her famous friends as well, including 429 recording artist, Jackie Greene, Steve Berlin (Los Lobos) and multiple Grammy nominees Scott Nygaard and Darryl C. Anger. A heavy tour strategy is being planned to support Chris new release, and its only a matter of time before the entire country know this amazing talent..
Cold Blood
www.coldblood.biz
Lydia Pense and Cold Blood are Bay Area music pioneers with an amazing history and an exciting future.
Lydia and the band debuted when the Fillmore was at its peak as one of the nation’s musical Mecca’s. Owner Bill Graham was so impressed with Lydia’s voice and the sound of the band that he immediately signed Cold Blood to his new record label. During the span of six original late-60’s, early-70’s albums, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood helped, along with Tower Of Power, forge their own specific brand of funk/soul and R&B which came to be know as East Bay Grease. That music still holds up today, proving that great music is timeless and will continue to inspire generations to come. Lydia Pense and Cold Blood packed the San Francisco Ballrooms in their heyday, but that was then and this is now. In the now, Lydia Pense and Cold Blood still fill halls with cheering, dancing, foot-stomping fans. Far from fading over the years, Cold Blood has flourished.
Cold Blood has been blessed with the ability to reach backwards for original influences and the creativity to reach forward, working with new approaches. The music they play is ageless, and can still fill any room to the rafters.
