Do You like rockin' blues? If you do, The Backyard Blues Band is the band for you. Since 1993 BBB has been entertaining crowds large and small with their straight ahead " Backyard Style" approach to blues. Over the years they have shared the stage with such greats as John lee Hooker, Los Lobos, Steppenwolf, Kid Rock, Link Ray, Canned Heat, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, and George Thorogood to name a few.Mario's vocals and harmonica talents are the defining quality of the backyard sound. His passion for his music, and his desire to honor the memory of his late brother Ritchie Valens, are the driving force in BBB. You may have seen Mario recently at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony where he proudly accepted the award for his brother. The late William Clarke once advised him, "Mario, stick with the blues."Mike Baldwin's outstanding guitar work is a major factor to creating the BBB sound. Mike's old school "no guitar toys" approach to blues guitar create those powerful "in your face" solos that are very much a trademark of BBB performances. Mike shares the lead vocal duties with Mario as well as contributing to much of the songwriting. .
