Bristol based 6-piece ska/ska-punk band. Having had 2 years of on-off rehearsing and writing, we have recorded an EP - "Where nobody knows your name" - and will be releasing it in the summer of 2007, now focused on getting out there and kicking some ska ass.
Ninas Cafe is made up of 6 individuals who all came together in many different ways. The result is one the most original sounding UK ska bands, quite unusually featuring a frontline of 4 girls, outnumbering the two guys 2:1!
Singer and Saxophonist Kate is an actress when not screaming her lungs out for this band, and formed the band with Andy - Guitarist with Skate-Punks Mr Zippy - as a project a few years ago. As soon as the band found out that Rachel's sister Laura played Trombone and was into ska, that had the lineup complete. Two guitarists, Steve and Tom, have come and gone, but new hope shines in the shape of Mills, the new guitarist...
Ninas Cafe are being booked by INFECTIOUS TALENT. The full length album is starting recording in early 2008, in Andy's new studio - "Music Box Recording Studio" - Until then, check out the shows to see if we're playing near you soon!
