ok... before the "about me stuff"... I have had a couple of songs linked to the Neil Young LIVING WITH WAR TODAY site... which is pretty cool.... they are SERVICE WITH A SMILE 2006 & THICKER THAN BLOOD and are under the SONGS OF THE TIMES section... and, two acoustic songs of mine, SMART BOMBS & STAR BLACK SKY are now in the PROTEST VIDEOS section of LWW, although they hardly qualifies as videos, or a songs:

BONNINGTON TRUCE
Although I have played with various bands over the years, the most recent band being Patrick Wallace & The Earth Junkies in Nashville during the 1990s, I am currently having to take the route of an isolated solo artist--- writing songs and recording on a little four track at home where I must do all the instruments, vocals and recording. So, this presents the obvious drawbacks. But, I have to write songs it seems, so I decided that for now I must make the best of it and at least try to document what I write by making some sort of primitive recorded artifacts. I have an archive entitled FLOUNDERING IN OBSCURITY that is comprised of about eight hours of music that has survived from the earlier years of my almost thirty years of creating and performing music with such bands in my youth as Bonnington Truce, 3 Humans, The Peace and Cherokee Peace Shamans. I also recorded two albums in Nashville when I was with the band Patrick Wallace & The Earth Junkies. These two albums were recorded in the mid 1990s and are entitled FAMILIAR FRONTIER and LOST IN THE MYSTERY. In 2005 I returned to writing and recording music after having given up music as best I could for the second time in my life, now having to do everything myself on a four track.
For now I am happy that the Bonnington Truce Pockumentary has been made and rescues some great music that was made by that band from the stingy grasp of obscurity and oblivion.

Bonnington Truce: An Alternative History Of Mississippi is a documentary film that explores the late '70s music and antics of an undiscovered band from the deep south. Bonnington Truce consisted of five creative individuals, composing, recording and performing original 'Pock' music in the heat and humidity of southern Mississippi.

The film features an all-original music score with rare studio and live performance footage, in addition to a massive collection of original photos, posters and artwork created by the band. A host of fans and foes give us a glimpse into the personalities that came together to create some of the most unusual music in such an unlikely place.

See why so many of America's most intolerable critics and heavy duty beerdrinkers dig this secret Southern ‘Pock’ Combo that hails from the deepest backwoods of Mississippi. Bonnington Truce is the smartest, silliest, independent kickass rock & roll band in the world.

Filmed on location in New York, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, Texas, California, and Madrid, Spain.

Produced, directed and edited by Perry Trest

Executive Producer: B. L. Young

Producers: Jeff Bridges, Dick Ford, Earl Lundy, Hugh O'Neil, Patrick Wallace

In New York, they had the New York Dolls. In Athens, they had R.E.M. In Los Angeles they had Black Flag. In Hattiesburg, Mississippi, they had...BonningtonTruce.

In 1979, Mississippi was getting ready to vote forRonald Reagan. At the same time, a few guys got togetherand decided they were going to form a band.

But not a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band, or a Top 40 band toplay the frat houses and bars. Their band. With theirmusic.

"Bonnington Truce: An Alternative History ofMississippi" is a rollercoaster ride through a certaintime and place a little sideways from where most peoplego.

It's a story of how a band came to be (and not to be) inthe middle of a small sleepy town in Mississippi, in themost unexpected way possible, making the most unexpectedmusic they could, and the unexpected results. It's alsoabout five friends getting reacquainted, 25 years later.

It's about people being themselves in a place that hadtrouble allowing that. It's a shaggy dog tale with asmany lies as truth. But it all really happened, at leastas much as we can remember.

And it's also about how you don't have to be a superstarto rock and roll.

No apologies, no regrets. But there is fried chicken.

As for my current band situation and members, right now I am dismembered--- or, one might say that the members of my band at the current time are me, me, and, did I mention me?

Influences: The Beatles, John Lennon, Neil Young, Hank Williams Sr., Bill Monroe, T Rex, Jack Skellington, thunderstorms, long aching nights in the void created by contemplating Being, the lonesome call of a whippoorwill, half remembered occurrences buried in the sedimentary memory of my formative years, the white noise of the eternal HERE and NOW, and many other influential things that are too many to mention, some of which I am perhaps aware and some of which I am not cognizant, although I am sure they shape me from the darkness of my unconscious--- and that last category of stealthy influences are the most potent, for the most part!
Sounds Like: I know I am supposed to list other artists that I sound like, but I will instead say this: Sometimes I think my creations sound not so bad to me and sometimes they sound like crap--- my moods are very fickle and capricious when it comes to hearing something I have written and recorded.
