About Me

Once upon a short winded bio...followed by a long winded 'Sounds Like' section...
Of all the comparisons I’ve been subject to, a newspaper reporter once cited me as “channeling a punk rock Joni Mitchell” and that will always be my favorite. Some online magazine read to the effect of "...and Turner sounds like a second rate Pat Benetar. But even Pat Benetar could hit you with her best shot every now and then." That one made me sad like a panda. I'm a niche writer ;)
My music has been licensed to MTV, ETV, USA, Oxygen, and Lifetime. Two releases with my former band Consumption were serviced to college radio (in 05 & 07) and each was each spun at around 200 stations, in the top 5 adds at a few and charting into the top 5, 10 and 20 at a few as well. Over the years, my work has been featured in magazines and newspapers throughout North America and I’ve done a whole bunch of radio dates and a television date or 2 as well.
I'm 1/3 of On Demand Media LLC, a company serving AND serving up some of the coolest indie artists of EVERY genre in a bunch of capacities...and I co-host a weekly live music podcast called sfcLIVE – recorded from my very favorite venue here on the Coast and podcast from our site. Click on the picture to check it out.
I like to hang around with nonprofits when the planets align. Currently, I’m working to rehabilitate the MS affiliate of Guitars Not Guns (www.guitarsnotguns.org) - Boys and Girls Club in several ways. And I try and help out a few other seasonal organizations every year.
I’ve also been cultivating a lily for a few years…becoming rather tall and very beautiful.
Need Video??? Hire my buddy Tony. He'll come to you and his rates are more than reasonable for the work he does.

Influences: ...in not so much an order: Cyndi Lauper, X, Doo Wop, Jim Croce, Andres Segovia was a big guitar study for me, the many incarnations of Danzig, Allison Krauss, Rancid, Dolly Parton, most words that end in -grass, Billie Holiday, Concrete Blonde, "coded" slave songs, anything in the call and response category, R.E.M.,Toad the Wet Sprocket's Dulcinea album, the Disney Collection of Children's Songs on vinyl from my childhood probably taught me more about melody and harmony than anything else in my Life, heavy metal, Delta & Piedmont Blues particularly, Operation Ivy, Bach, the Duhks as of late...I could go on and I may...later
