As you might guess, modern dance (both doing and observing). Mark Morris Dance Group in particular. Cooking and carousing. Books and films. Lots of travel, yoga, art. Also an infatuation with writing.
Citizen Kane, of course! And all kinds of modern bon vivants. Both Baith and Fuffy, preferably together. Preferably with me in the middle. Also, a Frankensteinian collage of Eddie Izzard, John Cusack, Alyson Hannigan
(especially as Vamp!Willow), Jon Stewart, and Joss Whedon.
Word to the wise: It's not a goal of mine to be able to boast thousands upon thousands of "friends", so if I don't actually know you personally, please don't be offended if I don't add you. Exceptions might be made, i.e. if a friend of mine is making an introduction via MySpace. It's not that I've never made friends online (I certainly have, and wouldn't rule it out in the future) but in general, that's my policy. I'm truly not a snob, though - if you have a recommendation from one of these fine people, well, then, pleased to make your acquaintance!
Tom Waits, Jane's Addiction, Jeff Buckley, PJ Harvey, Social Distortion, Leonard Cohen, Ani DiFranco, Hole, Nick Cave, Johnny Cash, Tori Amos, Laurie Anderson, Glenn Gould, pretty much all baroque choral music ever, and most of the classical period. Silly nostalgic gothiness, lots of good old New Wave, Britpop and punk. Throw in some rockabilly and swing for guaranteed fun. And the Beatles - I'm a John person.
Harold and Maude = my all-time no. 1. Recent faves: Shaun of the Dead, Serenity, Napoleon Dynamite. Classics: 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould, Bladerunner, Heathers, Amadeus, The Mission, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Baraka, The Hours, Swimming to Cambodia. Any Eddie Izzard special. In general, the Bros. Coen, Soderbergh, Greenaway, Lynch. Must confess I'm also a sucker for the complete Harry Potter and LOTR franchises.
Buffy, Buffy, and more Buffy: May she rest in peace. Also Freaks and Geeks, Firefly, The Simpsons, Futurama, Real Time with Bill Maher, the Daily Show and Colbert Report. And, I admit, the Food Network entire.
Full catalogues of M. Amis, DeLillo, Joyce. Enjoyed portions of David Foster Wallace, large doses of Rilke, and total binges on Neil Gaiman. David Sedaris, and the whole This American Life crew. Geek Love as a stand-alone hit. Chuck Palahniuk. And Anne Lamott regularly rocks my world.
Al Gore. No, seriously! I have a whole new respect for him after seeing "An Inconvenient Truth". Run, run, RUN to watch it ASAP!
