About Me

My day job is being the weird girl with the hair working for a defense contractor - yeah, it is rather boring. My alter ego is Sara Frenzy - I DJ the monthly Shag Frenzy indie dance party at Sweet Janes in Hartford with my husband. Derek (AKA Johnny Strangler) is my soulmate, and at one point we even had matching Pulp watches. I was born in Kansas, but grew up in South Florida. Moved to Connecticut in 2000, and I love it - pale skin and curly thick hair just doesn't suit Florida. I met Derek at a nightclub in West Palm Beach, Respectable Street Cafe. It was right after the Morrissey shows in Autumn of 1997. We started talking about music, and listing all kinds of obscure bands. At one point we both said, at the same time, "Gorky's Zygotic Mynci" - at that point we knew it was meant to be. We were married in December of 2000 and started Shag Frenzy in 2004.
