Mz. Meka born as Lameka Owens began her journey as a rapper in Virginia Beach, VA. She wrote her first rap at age 14. That was only the beginning for her. She started recording music at 15 in local studios of Va Beach & Norfolk. Mz. Meka was in a duet in 8th grade with a friend named Gia Jai. They never recorded but both had dreams of being the youngest female rappers at that time. In her Junior year of highschool she was in another group named Malicious Reign which started with her & another girl named Mastique then they collabed with 2 more females Slim & Storm. As Malicious Reign they layed down a couple tracks but decided to part ways after while. Mz. Meka never quit spittin in between that time. She did hooks & verses for various VA artist such as KAO, Jada, Keyz, & Mission etc. At 19 she went into the Air Force & had to put her music on the back burner for a couple years. While in the Military she met alot of people who also loved music. Mz. Meka continued to lay tracks where she could such as dorm rooms & closets in apartments. In Oct 06 she returned back to VA out of the military & started grinding hard. In June 07 Mz. Meka's song "Put Ya Heelz On" was played on one of the hottest stations in VA 103JAMZ by DJ Jack Of Spades...103JAMZ continues to spin this record til this day on the Local Sunday Night Spotlight. She's performed at local clubs Blakley's & The Peppermint Beach Club. Destine for the big time Mz. Meka is still striving to be heard. It's only a matter of time before the right person gives her a shot.
