In 1997, the bright age of 14, M Watts started to play with words and write hooks which led to writing whole verses. Writing for fun turned into writing for notability. Family, friends and peers have all acknowledged how skillful his way of words were. This was the “push†that gave M Watts the drive that he has today. Watts and his trio group, The Cartel, landed a demo deal with Priority Records in 2001. Their mix tape, released in September of 2005, “Business as Usual†was a local hit.
