When did you fall in love with Hip Hop?

About Me

"If we don't stand for something, we may fall for anything." ...Malcolm X
P.E.A.C.E. TO THE NATION OF GODS AND EARTHS
PAST....They say that people are molded from their surroundings. Well, in my case, I can attest to that. I am the sum of all my life experiences. While growing up in VA, a state full of “his-story”, I found myself reading a lot about my culture (African, Puerto-Rican, & Native American) and from that I wanted to learn more about how other people lived and their history. Luckily I was in an area to do that. By Baltimore and D.C. having a high population of Jamaicans and other brothers and sisters from around the Earth, it has had a strong influence in my life. Added to that…Hip Hop and The Nation of Gods & Earths also known as the 5 Percenters. Like many other youths at the time, I watched Kung Fu Theater on “tell-a-lie-vision”. That sparked an interest in Chinese and Japanese culture. Mainly surrounding the times of the Samurai. As a result I studied Martial Arts for several years. Another factor in my upbringing is that I spent the summers at my grandparents working on a farm. Learning how to be self-sufficient is one of the greatest joys of life.
PRESENT....That brings me to the present. I've spent years in Corporate America working as a slave only to make someone else rich. Yes I was conditioned just like a lot of brothers out there today. Get an education!! Get a job. Pay taxes and be a good negro. Well, it's one thing wrong with that. I was never happy working for any establishment except for when I worked at United Way. I was helping people. Everyday I would put on my monkey suite and my fake smile for something they said I was worth at the end of the week. As of July 4th, my Independence Day, I declared that I will never work in Corporate America again.
FUTURE....Stay tuned
