HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!!! :)

About Me

How are you? Most people call me Sammi... I'm not actually in a band and I don't really sing, or play an instrument, however, I am a Lyricist/Songwriter. I am 30 something...LOL, and married, and my husband and I have 3 kids in their teens. I write/co-write lyrics for many different genres, so far my copyrighted catalog of lyrics are geared toward Country, Pop-Country, Country-Rock or Southern Rock, Pop, and a few that could be Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, & Heavy Metal Rock. I am a member of NSAI and ASCAP.
My main goal is to help others through my lyrics, to touch their souls and hopefully improve a moment, a day, week, or more of their lives in some way. Of course along with those goals come the industry goals, and mine are to have enough cuts of my songs make it to the top 40, top 20, hopefully the top 10 charts, so that my family and I can live very comfortably for the rest of our lives, (including our future grandchildren, and so on) and so that we can give generous donations to the many charities and causes that we believe in. Any music industry respect, awards, or recognition that may happen on the way will be icing on the cake! My Ultimate goal is to try and do as well as Diane Warren, or Jeffrey Steele, or at least come close if I can!
I am starting to get music put to more of my lyrics right now, and I continue to co-write songs with other great writers. I am good friends with, and have written and/or collaborated with, Debra Foster, Jared Starr, Mississippi Spud (Vic), Mark Preston, Doug Cook, & Marc-Alan Barnette. I have lots of writing coming up with some great writers that I'll be working with for the first time and I am excited about it! I'll also be writing more with some of the folks I named above, I can't wait! Also, Lauren D'Aria and Pat Vagnoni, the guitarist in her band, are working on putting music and vocals with one of my lyrics, I am very excited about working with them on this! I don't want to give away the title of the song yet, but I'm anticipating it sounding like Kelly Clarkson with an Avril Lavigne edge on the vocals, very powerful! And the music will be a hard edged Pop-Rock sound with lots of guitar riffs, similiar to Nickelback's sound. I can't wait! Lauren and Pat are working on it inbetween previous recording obligations and concert gigs, so be patient with me! : ) Soon I'll have more for you to listen to.
I have loved music all my life, I cannot remember ever NOT having music in my life, there was always a radio or stereo playing, and my mom was always singing with it around the house. More about this in my blog titled "My Lyrical Beginnings".
In 1999 I became serious about pursuing writing lyrics as a career after being nudged by friends and loved ones that saw my (usually much guarded) work and believe I have talent. In December 1999, I began getting my lyrics copyrighted. Being a lyricist allows me to do something in the music industry that I love so much, and yet it's kind of behind the scenes enough to accomodate my moderate "stage and public" shyness. In October of 2004 I became a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriter's Assoc. Int'l), and in July of 2005 I became a member of the Soundclick.com community, and I started this site in December of 2005. In 2006 I became affiliated with ASCAP and registered my songs with them.
If you want to know more, there's more about me in my BLOGS. : ) Or you may check out MY OTHER SITES thnaks! ; )

**NEWS**
Samantha’s songs have been played and/or are being played on national Independent radio stations and many Independent internet radio shows nationally, internationally and worldwide.
From August 13th, 2006 to January 20th 2007, HELL IN HIGH HEELS had a 25 week run on America’s Country Radio Network (ACRN) “INDIE HOUR” show, hosted by Mercedes Montgomery. HELL IN HIGH HEELS was also in the TOP 20 INDIE COUNTDOWN for 13 of those weeks (non-consecutively), which was also hosted by Mercedes Montgomery, on ACRN FM. October 15th, 2006, HELL IN HIGH HEELS peaked at NUMBER 2 on the TOP 20 INDIE COUNTDOWN. Only requested songs were played on the “INDIE HOUR” show and only the most requested & played songs made it to the Top 20 at the end of the week. Shortly after the end of January 2007 many programs, shows and host changes were made at ACRN, and the “INDIE HOUR” show was cancelled as well as the TOP 20 INDIE COUNTDOWN. Quote from Samantha, “THE FANS OF OUR SONGS ROCK!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING US GET ON THE INDIE HOUR, AND THE TOP 20 INDIE COUNTDOWN, THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US THERE FOR AS LONG AS YOU DID WITH ALL OF YOUR REQUESTS AND FOR HELPING US REACH NUMBER 2 !!!! : ) THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR AWESOME SHOW OF SUPPORT!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!” (Our & We, refers to herself and her co-writers on the songs.)
HELL IN HIGH HEELS climbed to NUMBER 3 on the Soundclick.com charts in the Rockabilly genre, LOST IN AUSTIN made it to NUMBER 11 in the Traditional Country genre and BACK TO LOVE AGAIN made it to NUMBER 11 in the Country General genre, on the Soundclick.com charts.
APRIL 11, 2007: LOST IN AUSTIN was signed to publishing deal with ANA (America's New Artist) MUSIC in Nashville, TN. to be pitched to Artist for recording.
MAY 16, 2007: HELL IN HIGH HEELS was signed to non-exclusive publishing deal with CRUCIAL MUSIC in L.A., CA. to be pitched for use in motion pictures/soundtracks, television programs & movies, tv & radio commercials, games, ringtones, etc. This song is still available for publishing in regards to being recorded by an Artist.
I am very patriotic.... and although I may not agree with how things are being handled by the current administration with the war, I definitely support our troops!
People I would like to meet: Anyone that is serious about the music industry, and would like to network (or co-write); friends that are kind hearted, honest, real, and loyal; folks that like NASCAR and/or like Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr., people that like animals, and treat people and animals with respect. I would love to meet Dale Earnhardt Jr. of course..LOL...I'm a huge fan of his, and Oprah, that would be awesome! Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Gretchen Wilson, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, Alan Jackson..I'd love to meet all of them and many many more! Of course meeting Jesus would be the all time best, but that will have to wait! LOL! There are a lot of people I would really like to meet..but we'd be here all day! Seriously! LOL!
Please feel free to leave a comment, but please BE RESPECTFUL, SHOW SOME CLASS, this is a professional site & I'm a lady! NO NUDE OR EXPLICIT PICTURES OR EXTREME LANGUAGE, MY HUBBY, KIDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS LOOK AT MY PAGE TOO, and also... I just don't think it's necessary. Thank you! : ) Have a great day! (Visitors/"friends" that don't respect these wishes will have their COMMENTS DELETED, and those "friends" will also be DELETED FROM MY FRIENDS LIST.)

Lauren D'Aria and Pat Vagnoni, (guitarist in her band), are currently working on putting music and vocals to one of my song lyrics. We are going for a Kelly Clarkson vocal style with an Avril Lavigne edge, and aiming towards Pop-Rock on the verge of being Metal kind of style for the music, similiar to Nickelback's sound with the guitar riffs and drums. I am very excited about working with them!! Check out Lauren's myspace, it's a party for your eyes, ears and mind!! Influences:
My influeneces? I believe that anything you listen to, read, see, or live, influences your writing in one way or another, of course. However I would have to say my greatest influences as far as writing structure have been Pamela Phillips Oland, Pat Pattison, & Diane Warren. As far as what style/attitude/personality I enjoy most and hope to be able to convey in my writing... I'd say my influences for writing Country lyrics are Jeffrey Steele, Craig Wiseman, Bob Dipiero, Rivers Rutherford, Toby Keith, Lorreta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Gretchen Wilson, Shania Twain and especially my mentors and friends in Nashville, Marc-Alan Barnette and Jimbeau Hinson. My newest influences are Debra Foster (Nashville), Jared Starr (Texas), and Dan Gold (Nashville). I Love y'all!! There are so many people that are musical influences for me though, too many to count or list. I have listened to a lot of different genres of music all my life, some more than others at different times in my life. In general...the genres that have influenced me the most are Country by far, Rock and Pop, (and all variations of each of those genres). I go into MUCH greater detail about this subject on my official website. www.SamanthaBrentMusic.com/AboutSamantha

Although I mostly write Country lyrics, I do write some Pop, and Rock also, I listen to all kinds of music... Top 40's, R&B, some Hip-Hop, and select Rap artists, Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, Metal,... I could probably write a small book on all of the bands and artists I like listening to... again. I went into pretty good detail about who some of my favorites are... on my official website's Bio/Interview page at www.SamanthaBrentMusic.com/AboutSamantha

One of the books I STRONGLY reccommend to anyone getting in to the Music Industry...(below)...whether you are an Artist, Songwriter, Manager, Producer, whatever.. this book covers all the basics on the Business side of the Music Biz.

Sounds Like:
I've been told that the songs I have posted on here could be hits with Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Travis Tritt, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson or Toby Keith! But you tell me what you think. : )

Most of the lyrics that I write for female vocalist songs, are similiar in subject or emotion to those performed, and/or writtten by Martina McBride, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, with a mix of Gretchen Wilson, Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton attitude! LOL! : )

...BY THE WAY!! IF YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED FEMALE SINGER/SONGWRITER IN THE GENRES OF POP, COUNTRY OR ROCK WITH A GOOD FOLLOWING AND YOU'RE LOOKING FOR MATERIAL... PLEASE GET A HOLD OF ME, I AM CURRENTLY SEEKING COLLABORATION FOR MY FEMALE LYRICS! : )

LOOK FOR MY NAME ON THE "COUNTRY START PAGE"! : ) On the orange menu bar click "Country Industry Links", then look for my name under the "Songwriters" heading. There are lots of links to all kinds of sites related to the music industry, if you are looking for someone or something, check out their site!
