How are you? Most people call me Sammi... I'm not actually in a band and I don't really sing, or play an instrument, however, I am a Lyricist/Songwriter. I am 30 something...LOL, and married, and my husband and I have 3 kids in their teens. I write/co-write lyrics for many different genres, so far my copyrighted catalog of lyrics are geared toward Country, Pop-Country, Country-Rock or Southern Rock, Pop, and a few that could be Rock, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, & Heavy Metal Rock. I am a member of NSAI and ASCAP.
My main goal is to help others through my lyrics, to touch their souls and hopefully improve a moment, a day, week, or more of their lives in some way. Of course along with those goals come the industry goals, and mine are to have enough cuts of my songs make it to the top 40, top 20, hopefully the top 10 charts, so that my family and I can live very comfortably for the rest of our lives, (including our future grandchildren, and so on) and so that we can give generous donations to the many charities and causes that we believe in. Any music industry respect, awards, or recognition that may happen on the way will be icing on the cake! My Ultimate goal is to try and do as well as Diane Warren, or Jeffrey Steele, or at least come close if I can!
I am starting to get music put to more of my lyrics right now, and I continue to co-write songs with other great writers. I am good friends with, and have written and/or collaborated with, Debra Foster, Jared Starr, Mississippi Spud (Vic), Mark Preston, Doug Cook, & Marc-Alan Barnette. I have lots of writing coming up with some great writers that I'll be working with for the first time and I am excited about it! I'll also be writing more with some of the folks I named above, I can't wait! Also, Lauren D'Aria and Pat Vagnoni, the guitarist in her band, are working on putting music and vocals with one of my lyrics, I am very excited about working with them on this! I don't want to give away the title of the song yet, but I'm anticipating it sounding like Kelly Clarkson with an Avril Lavigne edge on the vocals, very powerful! And the music will be a hard edged Pop-Rock sound with lots of guitar riffs, similiar to Nickelback's sound. I can't wait! Lauren and Pat are working on it inbetween previous recording obligations and concert gigs, so be patient with me! : ) Soon I'll have more for you to listen to.
I have loved music all my life, I cannot remember ever NOT having music in my life, there was always a radio or stereo playing, and my mom was always singing with it around the house. More about this in my blog titled "My Lyrical Beginnings".
In 1999 I became serious about pursuing writing lyrics as a career after being nudged by friends and loved ones that saw my (usually much guarded) work and believe I have talent. In December 1999, I began getting my lyrics copyrighted. Being a lyricist allows me to do something in the music industry that I love so much, and yet it's kind of behind the scenes enough to accomodate my moderate "stage and public" shyness. In October of 2004 I became a member of NSAI (Nashville Songwriter's Assoc. Int'l), and in July of 2005 I became a member of the Soundclick.com community, and I started this site in December of 2005. In 2006 I became affiliated with ASCAP and registered my songs with them.
If you want to know more, there's more about me in my BLOGS. : ) Or you may check out MY OTHER SITES thnaks! ; )

I am very patriotic.... and although I may not agree with how things are being handled by the current administration with the war, I definitely support our troops!
