Ilson's Metal Bastards!

About Me

This is Blindsight, your new favourite metal band! Mixing the best elements of classic thrash, hardcore and nu-metal, Blindsight have created a sound which can only be described as 'IlsonHardcoreMetal'! Ilkestons metal bastards pride themselves on stomping metal grooves, infectious lyrics and mach speed guitar solos that will melt your face off! With a dynamic stage presence and a loud abrasive performance, Blindsight aim to entertain and whip the crowd into a headbanging frenzy! So get your ass to the front and break your fucking neck!
Formed in Ilkeston in Early 2004, Blindsight started very early life playing mellower songs with almost pop punk-esque riffs. The members soon realised heavy metal was thier true calling and the original members Grant, Dev, James and Bob, joined by then drummer Shaun, played various gigs in late 2004/early 2005 with the likes of NotSoPretty and Patchwork Grace. Shaun then parted ways and the band called upon the talents of Tom Peck to play the skins.
Now with a more refined yet brutal sound and a new lust for heavy music, Blindsight have returned in style! Following recent shows including supports slots for NG26, Cruel Humanity and DIP, Blindsight are slowly making a name for themselves with their high-octane, energetic performances. Recent performances at the Junktion 7 Battle Of The Bands and Ilkestons Music In The Marketplace have really grabbed the attention of the metal loving public and underground press alike. The future is bright, the future is Blindsight!
Blindsight are one of the loudest, fastest and most down right brutal bands currently playing the local circuit, while still having the ability to pull at your heart strings with emotive lyrical passages. See you at our next gig!
Don't take our word for it though, check out these reviews :-
"'Finally we finish the night with a stomping metal band. Blindsight mix several metal influences with moments of Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Nu-Metal. The guitars are chunky and lock well, whilst the bass and drums keep it tight. The vocals are growling and filled with honest angst and anger. There is a constant barrage of bass with the bass lines, heavy guitar riffs and stomping drums crashing down and this gives Blindsight a sort of Pantera feel at times but with some softer moments it gets a little Papa Roach. The dynamic is good with some great build ups and break downs. Their movement is pretty good and the singer chats to the crowd well, getting everyone in a positive mood. This band had great power and energy with a fairly good mix of style and dynamic and by mixing real crushing heavy moments with more melodic and catchy moments they certainly made a major impact." - Saggy Pants Review - Junktion 7 BOTB Heat 4
"Tonights winners Blindsight employ good heavy rhythms, hard rifts and unforgiving vocals! Catchy choruses that still manage to sound in the spirit of metal really work for the band. Having picked up the win, its going to be pretty interesting to see how theyll face off against other metal acts also qualifying to the next round!" - Junktion 7 Review - Junktion 7 BOTB Heat 4
