Born Ben Joseph Wheeler in Sheffield (England) on the 17th February 1987, Nem moved to Kingston-Upon-Thames (Surrey) at the age of 12 after his parents divorced to then move to Italy.
In July 2006 he released his first mixtape “Delivery Guaranteed†on the streets of the steel city and spent the summer of 2006 recording and performing to eventually meet Joe Davies, Yezza & Vex One, with whom he would work very closely over the following years.
Nem released Beat Thieves Vol.1 as a free online download in October 2006 together with Joe Davies & Vex One, after which he went onto release the "Compliments Of The Sheff" free online promo by himself in April 2007. He then started work on his next solo mixtape project "The Sheff Man", which has now been postponed until late 2008/early 2009. In the meantime he has completed work on "The Centre Stage" mixtape which is to be released this summer, featuring tunes such as Moment In Time, Fresh Kicks (Ft. Vex One & Yezza), In Your Face (ft. Appeal), Trying To Run (Ft. Jaf), among others...
After"The Centre Stage" mixtape Nem plans to release his "Music Takes Me" EP later this year as well as "Beat Thieves Vol.2", "The Sheff Man" mixtape, "Keepin' It Steel" mixtape in collaboration with Appeal and the "Snakes Pass" mixtape linking Sheff and Mancunian artists together on one mixtape.
Nem recently went to East London with Yezza & Vex One where they shot the video for Fresh Kicks which should be online and on Channel U later this year... so look out for that! Fila got involved and Skinnyman himself makes a cameo appearance!!!!
Things are busy for Nem and the future is only looking brighter... watch this space for things to come!
