Hostage Life If you'd like me to photograph you or your band when playing in Toronto, try asking me. I get a lot of requests, and I can only handle a couple of shows a week, so chances are excellent that I won't be able to make it, but you'll never know if you don't ask. Please take a look at information on my rates:
INVITE PETE TO YOUR CONCERT
I also love to listen to new music, and will sometimes blog about it. If you'd like to send me a CD, email me and I'll let you know where to send it. If I like it, I'm more likely to try to make it out to one of your shows. If I really like it, I may write something up. But please don't expect to be written up in any timely manner. Even though I do not write many reviews, I do listen to it all. Every submission. And more. Thanks to everyone who has submitted music so far. I almost always have a few CDs in the queue, and I like it that way. I get to hear so much talent.
If you've actually bothered to keep reading, here's the bonus information about me: I don't make money from my photography, even including the paid packages. The cost of equipment and incidental expenses far outweighs the money I get paid to do this, but I do it because I love discovering new music. And I really do just want to help great indie bands succeed.
I've been into photography for years, but it tooke me a long time to figure out I could mix my love for photography with my love for music. I find it satisfying and heaps of fun. Plus working with musicians has been a great experience, mostly because I highly value their work. Aside from taking pictures of concerts, I also like to photograph rusty metal, sea and sand, plastic action figures, and people. Yes, I said "action figures" – I'm talking to you Barbie. I'd like to meet:

I'm here to meet other people who are also obsessed with music. Fans, photographers, musicians.

What I'm not here for is to creep out young women (my wife tells me I'm able to do that without even trying). It seems like a few feamles here are either paranoid or there's tons of stalkers on MySpace. Hmm... okay, perhaps it's not paranoia. Either way, if you don't want to be my MySpace friend, just click that Deny button. I won't take it personally. Has anyone ever read this far? If you're still reading, here's the super-secret extra bit of information: Pete Nema isn't my real name, it's an alias I use for photography (my real name, however, sounds more fake that my made up name – it's not hard to figure it with Google – so even if you learn my real name, please call me Pete).
