The first incarnations of The Outside Royalty were formed in Pittsburgh in 2003 by singer/guitarist Adam Billing. In 2006, an article ran in Pittsburgh music magazine ‘The Front’, which bemoaned the Pittsburgh music scene and cried out to any talented bands to ‘get out’. In the centre of this article was a huge picture of The Outside Royalty. So there it was, they took that leap of faith and moved from Pittsburgh to London in the summer of 2006 with just 4 members remaining. Whilst on UK soil, The Outside Royalty have been on impressive form.
Picking up a new bassist and cellist, they’ve played with Babyshambles, toured with The Young Knives , been championed by Colin Murray with repeated spins on Radio 1, and had 2 ‘sell out’ Club NME shows at Koko. Aside from this, guest musician Rick Nelson from Polyphonic Spree has featured live with the band on numerous occasions.
About to release their signature track and debut single ‘Falling’ on Bloody Awful Poetry records (April 28th '08), produced by Phil Vinall (Radiohead , Pulp, Placebo, Elastica), it’s finally time for the The Outside Royalty to make their mark.
The Outside Royalty are: Adam Billing (Vox/Guitars), Echo Wu (Violin), Frederique LeGrande (Cello), Paul Crawford-Smith (Bass), Eizan Miyamoto (Synths), Brandon Paluzzi (Drums/Percission).
