Vote FoR Pedro is a 3 piece power trio w/ an agressive, eclectic setlist of covers which are a bit off the beaten path. The band was conceived by veteran Milwaukee musician Mitch Cooper of bands such as Aunt Violet, Midian, Tropical Heat, Perple Rain, and many other local projects. His multi-instrumental talent of playing the bass guitar AND keyboards simultaneously is a sight to been seen! Add to that, the young virtuoso Ricky Orta Jr. on vocals and guitar and finish it off with Scott Berendt on percussion and you've got a one heck of a band!
4 decades of rock, pop, and dance music are represented in Vote for Pedro's arsenal including songs from artists like Pearl Jam, Tool, Black Crowes, Hendrix, Rolling Stones, Buffalo Springfield, Velvet Revolver, Van Morrison, Creed, Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi just to name a few! You'll hear
your favorite songs BUT not like you've ever heard them before. We add groove, funk, and the VFP touch to all of the songs.
VFP IS an energetic and talented singer/guitarist, the grooviest drummer you've ever met, and a multi-tasking bassist / keyboardist / singing / overachiever (wink). The formula of sucess to this lineup seems to be VFP's ability to take a song, re-work it until it suits their style, and "make it their own" while remaining more or less true to the concept of the original artist's version.
Vote FoR Pedro can also be seen hosting weekly open jams as well at The Top Gun Saloon Sunday nights @ 6:30 and Wednesdays @ The Guitar Bar (Water St.) 10PM.
