Andrea Ahimie-Carthy (Trout)My involvement in the music industry started about 6 years ago as I commenced DJing under the ‘Trout’ moniker, playing a wide range of styles centred around deep house, disco, funk and soul. A typical Trout session was once described as ‘a diversity of sounds from ‘80s soul to Brook Benton by way of good pop and funk from the future’.
I spin for fun, and am notorious for my pride in my lack of ability to mix! Did I say ability? – I meant need! This unpretentious approach to DJing has seen me spinning at such events as:

In addition to getting myself DJ bookings, I have also set up an agency to do the same for others.
BamBu Agency & Promotions was launched in February 2003 and the roster currently includes DJs from New York: Qool DJ Marv (Friends & Family / Buttamiilk), Monk One (Friends & Family / Wax Poetics), and DJ Center (Music Lounge / Giant Step).
