------THE BLISSTONES are a 4 piece New York City rock band born a few years ago and infused with it's various member's musical and life experiences. From extended schooling in smoky bars, to break down and redemption..... To being immersed in their rock, their roots, and their blues, they're forever searching for that lost chord and the found song! It all began with creator and founder of The Blisstones, Laura Fay playing out solo acoustic, meeting guitarist Rick Rhodes. He taught her some guitar, they wrote some songs together. She decided to put a band together, (used to be called Laura Fay and Bliss) they recruited Glenn Schuld on bass, and Spike G. on drums. A couple years later, guitarist Michael Aguirre came on board as Lead guitarist and co-songwriter, they pulled in Ron Moore on bass from Mark Petracca's band, The Dusty Diamonds, (where Laura Fay and Michael Aguirre also played), and Ted Kirschner on drums. Currently with Laura Fay natively spearheading the way on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Michael Aguirre restlessly innovative on lead guitar and vocals, are April Daly on Drums and Sasha Alexander (Yowza) on bass, they continue their journey through the rock/pop thang. Or whatever strikes their fancy. They couldn't stop if they wanted to. Come along for the ride, won't you? Michael (Lead Guitarist) is an AIDS researcher at the Clinical Trials Unit at Beth Israel Medical Center. Laura Fay Lewis (Lead Singer) is an award-nominated actress and filmmaker. In addition to their musical exploits both Laura Fay and Michael are very much involved in the making of their music videos from directing to editing as well as acting and performing. The two music videos (Been There and What's the Rush, Superstar?) from their latest CD "Slapback" were just completed early in January 2005 and are available upon request. The two music videos may also be viewed here on their myspace site. Their E.P.K. is at www.sonicbids.com/theblisstones Laura Fay recently finished her self-penned short film "The Ballad of Cherry and Starbuckle" which received nominations for Best Actress, and Best Film and premiered at The Picture Start Festival in NYC and also The Arlene's Grocery Picture Show. THE BLISSTONES shine in their film debut as well, alongside Laura Fay starring as Cherry. The Blisstones CDs "Slapback" produced by Americana wunderkind Christopher "Preacher Boy" Watkins who has worked with Eagle-Eye Cherry (On Slapback, Preach also on Guitar and Keyboards) with Evan Wagner, and Glenn Schuld (on Bass), Jamie Moore (Drums) engineered by Andy Sarroff who co-mixed Joseph Arthur's "Our Shadows Will Remain". The Blisstones, and Christopher (Preacher Boy) Watkins were lucky enough to be one of the last few artists/ bands to record at the legendary R.P.M. recording studio in NYC. "Park" produced by The Blisstwins and mixed with 6-time Grammy nominated Bob Fisher. On this site, the first song "Runaround Man " is a newer version produced and engineered by Harley Fine of Zeroville Recording Studio on L.I.C. It's got a different vibe than the original that Preach produced, not to say one is better than the other, just different!
