About Me

Kindred Souls is an all original rock-n-roll band currently performing in New York . Their music is fueled by strong songwriting and power- house vocals. Like the very best of rock, the music has shades of blues, jazz, R&B, funk and soul. They have played at the IMG New York City Marathon for three years running, and become a regular sight at both Asbury Park's The Stone Pony, and in New York's West Village. The band has a great live show that takes the audience through the whole range of human emotion. Kindred Souls was formed by singer-songwriter Jeff Rafferty and keyboardist Lon Bachrach. They have written and self produced five albums, taking the time to sharpen their songwriting skills, and have developed a signature musical style that is all their own. The band features the considerable talents of bassist Stan Quincy Adams, Paul Lavenhar on drums, and on guitar the tandem of Jeff Samet and Ted Heman. Having released their new CD "Takes Two" in 2006, they have filmed and released a video for the title song, "Takes Two". Also, the band has recently gained global distribution for the album, having released it through Its About Music.com. Kindred Souls is currently performing live in the New York / New Jersey area. They have been featured at such venues as The Lion’s Den, The Bitter End, Don Hill's and The Knitting Factory. Kindred Souls has had great reviews of “Takes Two” by both Tim Louie of The Aquarian and Al Muzer of The East Coast Rocker, who writes: “The big story here are the amazing lead vocals of songwriter Jeff Rafferty. Huge, gutsy, emotive and arresting with more commercial appeal than a combination of Meat Loaf, Richard Thompson, Roger Daltry, Foreigner’s Lou Gramm, and Jefferson Airplane’s Marty Balin.”. The band is now preparing to go into the studio to record their next album, hopefully to be released by the summer's end.
