After many years constantly playing shows all over the country Reading’s own One Hundred Ways Forward have grown and become something of a rare breed amongst so many of today’s acts. They’re creating music that is not only unique and intelligent but also highly energetic. Synesthesia [Part One] is their debut EP and was recorded over the course of half a year. Sessions were held throughout the country, from multi-million pound classical studios to the shower in the lead singers house. The disc is essentially a concept EP telling the tale of a post apocalyptic world. With songs ranging from the opening rage of Screams of Lost Hope, to the epic Our Second Outlook and right through to the somber mini epic Soundtrack. The band have also already started work on Part Two which should be released around 2008, which started with the recording of a Full Symphony Orchestra. The aim here is simple; create an intelligent listening experience, one you can sit back and enjoy all the way through.
"Reading-based alt. metallers with a knack for pulling the rug from under your feet just when you think you've got them sussed. A full-blooded collision of experimental metal, screamo and hardcore glued into shape by a snaking ambience, 100 Ways Forward are an fine example of how to flit between genres without sounding directionless."
